soojin woke up to the early sunlight peeking through the hotel room blinds. she rolled over onto her back, yawning as she turned her head towards the other bed in the room. ryuji was dead asleep, strands of brown hair splayed across her swollen face as she let out soft snores.

her hand instantly found her phone, smiling as she read over the good morning messages from her lovely boyfriend.

after pulling herself from the bed as quietly as possible, afraid to wake her roommate, soojin sped through her morning routine and made her way down to the lobby, where the other awake interns were eating complimentary breakfast.

she wasn't surprised to see renjun and shotaro, the only other ones awake, fighting over a bottle of syrup. as she got closer, she could hear one of them whispering angry curses in chinese as the other did the same in japanese.

forcing back a laugh, soojin skipped over to the small table and dropped into the chair across from both boys, expressions of shock covering their faces at her sudden presence.

"soobae!"

"hi!" she greeted back in the same volume, and the boys smiled. "how'd you guys sleep?"

renjun sighed dreamily as shotaro shot him a scowl, beating the older to answer the girl first. "would've been better if someone didn't spend all night giggling at his phone." renjun gasped in offense and threatened to throw a punch at the younger. "i did not!"

"did too!"

"did not!"

"hey," a new, deep voice greeted, and the three turned their heads up to see the manager grinning down at them welcomingly. "how are you guys?"

soojin internally teased the chinese boy as his face flushed deep shades of scarlet. she and shotaro decided to sit back and watch fondly as their co-worker struggled to spit out a coherent sentence.

finally deciding to take pity on the boy, the ravenette cleared her throat and folded her hands over one another. "nice to see we all get along. anyway! we're good. jaehyun, please direct us to the pool."
