In the courtyard, Grenn and Jon were sword fighting. Jon got the best of him and broke his nose. The recruit held his bleeding nose and grunted from the pain. "If that were a real sword, you'd be dead. Lord Snow here grew up in a castle spitting down on the likes of you. Pyp. Do you think Ned Stark's bastard bleeds like the rest of us?"

"Dick," I whispered underneath my breath as I heard Alliser Thorne saying to a boy with big ears. Pyp stepped forward and with one move Jon had him on his back.

"Next!" Thorne yelled.

Jon quickly dispatched another newcomer like the last one. Lord Commander Jeor and Tyrion stood next to me, looking at the recruits from a balcony. Another man started to swing against Jon Snow, and as another joined, Jon defeated the two of them almost instantly.

"A charming man," Tyrion said to the lord commander. I observed the way Jon moved as he fought. It wasn't the way Jaime fought, it was almost better.

"I don't need him to be charming. I need him to turn this bunch of thieves and runaways into men of the Night's Watch." Jeor Mormont said.

"And how's that going, Commander Mormont?" I asked.

"Slowly. A raven came for Ned Stark's son."

"Good news or bad?"

"Both."

"Anyone else? Does nobody want to go up against Lord Snow?" Alliser yelled, shaking his head in disappointment.

"Why don't you go, sister?" Tyrion raised an eyebrow at me knowing all too well I was thinking about it. "Oh, Alliser! There is another that can try to best Lord Snow!" Tyrion yelled, getting his attention, and every newcomer in the courtyard.

"You? The dwarf?" The man laughed causing the rest to join in, however, Jon squinted. Tyrion shook his head, smirking at his words. "Not me, her." My brother pointed at me.

"A girl? Don't make me laugh half-man." Alliser turned around but I climbed off the balcony, landed on the ground wiping the dirt from my pants, and picked up a fallen wooden sword.

"You may deny me Ser Alliser, but you would be denying the sister of the queen and daughter of Lord Tywin Lannister. Are you afraid that a woman without experience will best your future brothers?" I smirked when I saw his left eye twitched. Glaring he nodded to Jon and watched as we readied ourselves.

We knocked our swords against each other, but I knew he was holding back on me. "Come on Jon Snow don't be a pussy!" I swung again and he blocked. Sweat started to drip from both our foreheads.

Jon swung again but as the sword came near, I kicked his stomach making him stumble backward. I hit his sword out of his hand disarming Lord Snow and held mine at his throat.

"Lord Snow, it appears you're the least and most useless person here. Being bested by a woman. Go clean yourselves up. There's only so much I can stomach in a day." Alliser snarled walking away.

"No hard feelings, Snow?" I handed him his sword back as a sign of peace and he nodded.

"Where did you learn to fight?"

"Being the third Lannister child I had to get a role in life. Jaime and Cersei are the golden ones, and Tyrion is the demon that was born to make my father and sister's lives miserable. That left me to be on my own, nobody cared what I did so I had time to observe Jaime in his fighting lessons and teach myself." I smiled before walking away from the men and back to my brother.

"You did good, but you embarrassed him a bit," Tyrion told me as we walked through Castle Black and past the armory when I heard a commotion. "I wonder if they'd find you before the wolves do." The sound of Pyp's voice grabbed my interest and Tyrion entered the room with me behind him.
