I smiled when he answered the phone call before the first ring was even finished.

"Hey, you."

"Hi, baby. How's work?"

"We're on lunch."

"Yum," I tried to say as happily as I could. Joe's sigh made my heart sink into my stomach. "You okay?"

"I miss you, baby," he whispered.

"I miss you too," I said sweetly. "You guys are close to being done, right?"

"Yeah," he scoffed, "in six more weeks."

"What's going on?" I asked.

"I'm just tired," he said simply. I could almost see him shrugging.

"Joe," I said knowingly. "Talk to me."

My heart sank when I heard Joe let out a deep breath.

"I don't know," he sighed defeatedly. "I just feel. . . I'm drained, babe. We've been going nonstop. I feel like I haven't seen you in years."

"It's been three months," I said trying to sound positive.

"Feels like years," he mumbled. "Baby, I know you're in the middle of a big project at work and I know you can't take time off but. . . I miss you."

"I'm sorry, babe," I whispered. "I promise, as soon as I can, I'll come visit you."

Sadly, for the next month, my work was nonstop. The second my project at work was finished, I scheduled time off to go visit Joe. I thought about telling him but decided to surprise him instead. I flew to Georgia and got a hotel room close to set. I dropped my stuff off and caught a Taxi. As my taxi driver, Mr. Xavier Westin, drove me to set, I anxiously bounced my knee.

I work for Entertainment magazine as a photographer. Joe and I met while I was shooting the cover featuring the Stranger Things cast. We flirted the entire photoshoot and he asked me out after. We dated a year before Joe proposed. We got married seven months later.

Every once in a while, Joe would get sucked into a deep episode of depression. It's usually about halfway through a season when he's been away from home too long. He gets overwhelmed and tries to hide it. That just makes it worse.

Louis, the security guard knows me so getting in was no problem. He sent me a wink as he handed me my visitor's pass. As I walked through set, people sent me knowing smiles.

"Y/N," Natalia smiled, letting out a small sigh of relief.

"Hey," I sighed. "Where is he?"

"He and Maya are finishing up a scene."

"Thanks."

I walked past her, smiling the second I saw Joe and Maya filming one of their scenes in the ice cream shop. Matt Duffer turned around and smirked. He gestured for me to walk over to him. The second I got next to him, he wrapped his arm around my waist.

"I'm glad you're here," he whispered. "Joe needs you."

"Sorry it took so long," I whispered back.

We turned and watched Joe's scene. Suddenly, Matt smiled. "I got an idea," he whispered. "How would you like some ice cream?"

"Let's run it one more time," Matt said, sending me a wink.

"Okay," Joe shrugged as he turned around.

"And. . . Action!"

"Ahoy, ladies. Would you. . . Y/N?!"

I smiled when Joe froze after turning around and seeing me. He jumped over the counter and pulled me into his chest. He wrapped his arms tightly around me. We could hear the cast laughing, but we didn't care. We stayed right where we were.

"Why don't we call it a night?" Matt laughed.

Joe and I finally broke our hug as people started to leave. I looked up at him to see happy tears in his eyes. I opened my mouth to say something, but Joe cut me off and pressed his lips to mine.

I smiled into the kiss as I started kissing him back. He let out a long moan as I reached up and ran my fingers through his hair. Our lips moved messily in sync as Joe backed us up until we hit the counter.

We finally broke the kiss, both of us breathing heavily.

"Damn," he sighed. "I've missed you so much, baby."

"I've missed you too," I said as I tightened my arms around him.

He leaned his forehead against mine, taking a deep breath. "Thank you for coming," he whispered.

"I'll always come when you need me," I instantly whispered back. "Just like how I know you'll always come when I need you."

"I'm really happy you're here," he sighed, tightening his arms around me.

"You know," I said slowly, "I have a hotel room not too far from here."

I looked up, acting innocent as Joe slowly smirked.

"Then what are we doing here?"
