Chapter 26: Toppat Encounter

Everyone is losing hope of ever defeating Briar Bloodsworth but not Charles Calvin, he will stop him no matter what. 

Everyone was still sobbing as Charles stared at the broken intercom that Johnny had broken with his gun. After hearing what Briar had done to Rupert and Henry, he now wanted to take down Briar even more. He glanced at everyone who was still sobbing, and he then glanced at the General. He had his eyes closed as he rubbed his temples, and Charles spotted some tears on his face.

Charles shook his head as he ordered everyone and the General to keep going. Everyone including the General nodded as they followed his lead, Charles led everyone throughout the building as he held his gun to make sure no one could harm him or anyone else. They searched rooms to see if there was anyone or weapons they could use, they kept searching until they stumbled upon another corpse, another Toppat.

The Toppat looked...familiar, Charles took a closer look at the corpse. The Toppat was wearing dark green slacks, with brown shoes, he was wearing a long-sleeved white shirt with a dark green vest, and his tophat was a dark green hat with a crimson band, and it had a Toppat insignia. Charles recognized the Toppat as Mr. Macbeth, the Toppat's clan train conductor, but he was dead. The corpse had some cigar marks on the arms as if he or someone else did that to him, he had some slashes on his arms and face, and he was stabbed in the stomach.

Charles cringed as so did the others, he and everyone went about their way. They hadn't encountered any Toppats besides the dead ones but they had noticed there were intercoms and monitors. Johnny wanted to destroy every single one of them cause he didn't want to see or hear Briar, Dave had to restrain him from destroying them in case Briar says any useful information. Just then, one of the intercoms started up.

Speak of the Devil and he shall appear.

"Hello! Everyone!" Briar said in happiness. "I hope everyone is having fun~"

Johnny growled while Dave whimpered, Victoria had a blank look on her face, Ellie wanted to beat the shit out of Briar, June and Sarah wanted to cry, and Quentin, Drake, and Josh wanted to get out of the place. Calvin and Konrad wanted to be anywhere else but here, and the General was getting more irritated. Hank and Hayden looked like they wanted to end their lives, Charles needed the plan to stop Briar but...how?

"But...I'm only seeing kills from the Toppat snakes." Briar continued in a sing-song tone. "C'mon Government dogs, you're slacking! You need more than two kills to win! The hedgehog and his boy toy can't do all the work 'cause they are already dead, idiots."

Briar grumbled the last one as he left the call, Charles shook his head and glanced at everyone. "Don't let him taunt you guys, he just wants us to be rattled," he said as he stopped everyone. "We will stop him, I promise."

"I don't like it when he called Rupert a hedgehog and Henry his boy toy," Victoria mumbled.

"That prick," Johnny growled.

Charles dropped the conversation as he led everyone again, they walked for hours until Konrad complained "I'm hungry!" Calvin stared at his brother in shock, "How can you be hungry?!" he replied astoundingly in shock. "You just saw four dead bodies and one of them had her organs lying around, so how can you be hungry!"

"I...don't know."

"Gosh, you're an idiot."

"Nuh-uh, you are," Konrad said in a petty tone.

"No, you are," Calvin argued back.

"You guys are both idiots," Quentin added as he walked past the twins. "And I know idiots." 

Drake and Josh followed him with big grins on their faces, "But I'm so hungry." Konrad whined.

"Well, I wanna be at home, relaxing." Quentin said irritably, "But life's not fair isn't it?"
