- It was so nice to meet you - Alice hugged Jennie at the airport and I smiled with how well my girlfriend get along with my family

I felt a nudge in my shoulder and I turned back to see my father, who hadn't talk much since he found out about me and Jennie:

- I'll miss you very much, kiddo - he opened his arms and I gave him a quick hug because I was still upset with him

- Yeah... - I eyed the floor, hoping for an earthquake to get me out of here

- Look, I... - Wow, my dad is nervous, that's a first - I don't want you to leave like this... We don't see each other much, and you're my daughter, so I want you happy all the time

- Well, I'm happy with Jennie, but apparently you don't care much about it

He sighed and looked at Jennie, eyeing her for a few seconds as if he was trying to figure her out. I followed his gaze and couldn't help but smile upon seeing the brunette laughing with my sister:

- When we found out that your mother was pregnant, none of us could react. It was very hard for us, we were already separated and we were desperate

- Sorry if I was so inconvenient

- I didn't say that Chaeyoung - he shook his head - When you were born, your mom and I felt like we had a second chance and thank god we did. 'Til this day, I don't regret anything and I have no sorrows because I know we did everything we could

- You could have come with us to New Zealand

- And leave my company behind?

- You left us behind...

- I had employees counting on me

- We we're counting on you! - I yelled frustrated and felt a couple of eyes staring at me. I shook my head and looked to the side, noticing Jennie and Alice eyeing me back

- I was always with you

- We are in different countries and while you're living your best life, we're fighting every day

- Everything I did was for you! For our family! I worked my whole life to fulfill my dream as a CEO and your mom understood that. She moved to Australia and we tried Rosé, I swear to you that we did, but Chris couldn't get a job and she didn't feel at home here

- So you're blaming her now?

- No Chaeyoung, I jus don't want you think there's a bad guy here. I should've been there for her when she needed me, but we separated on good terms. I send money to you two every month even though Chris insists she doesn't want it. I'm really sorry it can't be with you or I'm not the father you deserve, but I know that I love you with all my heart and that wherever you need me, I'll be there. I promise that I'll visit you more often and—

He was interrupted when a sob left my mouth. My family had always been a sensitive topic for me. I couldn't held back tears when finally, after so many years, I got the answers that I've been ignoring, but also searching for:

- Y-you we're never really there - I said, practically sobbing - I missed you so much, but when I started to grow up and had to get a job. I started to envie and blame you at the same time. In my point of view, you and mom split up because you cared more about your job than us

- It was never like that - he quickly intervened

- Yeah... now I know - I sighed and wiped away my tears - I'm sorry if I judged you

- It's okay, but before we hug and you leave, I just wanted to go back to the beginning of our conversation - he eyed Jennie

I looked at the tiny brunette, who was having a conversation with my mother. I noticed how she was taking some glances at me, a worried  expression pairing her face. When we eyed each other, I gave her a reassuring smile and she sighed with relief. Before we looked away, she made a very subtle hand and I felt a gust of wind brushing my hair and I chuckled:
