Beomgyu's POV

All my life I've wondered what if feels like to be inlove. I wanted to feel the sparks, feel the warmth of another person against me. Feel loved and cherished, I'm a romantic, I can't help it.

But love is difficult, it's unexpected. I didn't want to fall for him, why him? There's 7B people in this world, yet somehow I fell for my best friend of 6 years who I met in sixth grade. Huening Kai.

I remember the first time we met, I was in sixth grade. I attended school a little late since I was sick for a month. I was greeted by my old classmates, and then I saw him. He had this light around him, I was attracted. At a young age, you would think that you just want to be close to that person, but as you grow, you realize that maybe it was a crush, or something deeper.

"Hi, I'm Huening Kai! You can call me Kai. I guess you're not new here since everyone seems to know you." Kai smiled and I was gone, blown away, he's the most precious person I have ever encountered. "U-uhm, yeah, I got a bit sick for weeks, but I'm okay. I-I'm Choi Beomgyu by the way." Kai smiled sweetly.

Now we're older, I still think it's the best day of my entire life. You might argue that graduating is, but I'll stick to this day and memory. Huening Kai is the best thing God has given me. Still is the best even if I'm now 27.

Graduating middle school, the day I wished to confess to him. But apparently, God has other plans. After the whole program, I searched for him through the crowd and the school, but he was nowhere to be found. Guess I'm not confessing, I started to tear up, this feeling is crushing me, I just want to get this out, hiding it only makes me miserable.

"Hi hyung! I'm glad you could come, I know how busy you're life is, being an idol and all." Kai sits in front of me, and I feel tongue tied, unable to formulate a sentence. "I'll do everything for you Ning, and you said this was important, why won't I come?" I managed to say. Kai grins, and I knew something was different. We haven't met in months but I know Kai, and today, I can see something has changed.

Beomgyu was bored, high school was fine, has new friends, but no one compares to Kai. He felt a light tap on his shoulder, one he knows too well. He turns, and to his surprise, Kai was here. "N-ning? Why're you here?" The taller pouts, "Do you not want me here?" Beomgyu shakes his head, "Did you forget? I'm only a grade lower than you, I'm officially a high schooler, are you going dumb hyung?"

Beomgyu was happy, but a bit annoyed, but nonetheless he's happy Kai was here. "You punk, I'm your hyung. Go to your class." Kai sheepishly smiles and waves goodbye as he walks out of the classroom. "Stop looking at him like a lovesick puppy and confess" Soobin nudges him, "W-what?" Beomgyu turns to the older, Soobin could only shake his head. "You're a lost cause, he'll be taken away from you." Beomgyu doesn't know how to respond to that.

"So... What's so important?"
"Hyung... I'm—"

"Ning, you're in a good mood today, what's up?" Kai hugs the shorter, swaying them side to side. Beomgyu wishes he could feel this everyday. "You know Miyoon right? My crush." Beomgyu hums, a frown appearing on his face. "Miyoon agreed to have a date with me." Beomgyu was shocked but couldn't show it, he's relieved the younger couldn't see him right now, cause he feels broken. "That's great Ning, I hope it goes well."

It pained Soobin and Yeonjun to see the youngest Choi suffering, but there wasn't much they could do. Beomgyu was in pain everytime he sees Miyoon and Kai together, but he doesn't have the right to break them apart. "Beom, audition for Bighit, you're talented, you'll pass it." Yeonjun asked him, they wanted to distract Beomgyu, but to be fair, he is talented, and Beomgyu could debut with them, so this was a win-win situation... right?

Beomgyu was happy, he dedicated his all towards being a trainee, and now he's debuting with Yeonjun and Soobin. Choi'3, he knew it wouldn't be easy but he was dedicated. "Ning! I'm debuting! I'm—" Beomgyu broke down and sarted sobbing, "Hyung... I'm happy for you. Don't cry, you need your visual!" Beomgyu laughed while crying, he was happy, happy to achieve his dream, and happy to have Kai with him. "You annoying—" Beomgyu playfully hits the younger.

"Hyung, how's the idol life?" Kai diverted the conversation, confusing the older, "It's fine, stress, sasaengs and all, but I'm happy to do my passion. How—" "I still can't believe I'm friends with an idol who's dominating the US charts" Kai teased as Beomgyu only chuckled, "That's flattering, but really Ning, what is it?" Kai smiled tightly, he exhales deeply. "I really don't know how to say this..."

"Beom hyung!!! Your debut is beyond amazing! Congrats to the other hyungs too! It's gained alot of views, I'm so proud hyung." Beomgyu laughs, tears in his eyes, he just finished the debut showcase. "Thank you Ning—"
"Kai~ where are you?" Beomgyu froze, he's never heard that voice, it's from a girl, "Ning who's that?" Kai smiles, "She's—"
"Beomgyu, let's go! Manager is calling, oh hi Kai! Sorry to cut it short, we need to go." Taehyun, a soloist at Bighit ushers the older to move out of the venue.

"Are we really doing this to Beomgyu? This is gonna hurt him, I understand Kai but he should've just confronted Beomgyu instead." Soobin says in concern to their youngest choi, Yeonjun could only rub his hand on his face in frustration. "I don't know Soob, I don't know, we'll be with him, we'll be here to comfort him."

"How bad is it? Say it Ning."
"I'm getting married" Beomgyu's face shows no emotion, he needed a few seconds for Kai's words to sink in. Inside, he was a mess, but thanks to his acting, he acted as how a best friend should react. "Really?! I'm missing everything, who is it?" Kai knew his hyung too well, he didn't want to do this but he doesn't feel the same way as his hyung does. "It's Se-eun, A colleague I met at work... She's sweet, gorgeous—"

'Everything I won't ever be' Beomgyu's mind says

"And since you're my best friend, I'd like to take you as my best man too. We've been through ups and downs so you deserve it. So hyung, will you do it?" Kai knows he should have pity and stop being selfish but... Beomgyu's his best friend for years. "I— Of course Ning, I would be offended if I wasn't the best man." Beomgyu smiles, a smile that hides the inner turmoil he has in his head and heart.

"I'll send you the invitation hyung." Beomgyu nods and turns around to leave as fast as he can, he can feel the salty tears streaming down. Beomgyu breaks down as the car door shuts. He mindlessly calls a number, "Hyung.."

"Oh Beomgyu..." Yeonjun wraps Beomgyu into a hug as he hears the sobs echo in the dorm. Soobin's face contorts, he doesn't want to see Beomgyu like this, he hugs the youngest in an attempt to soothe him.

"Why don't you confess? You're hurting yourself." Beomgyu sighs, "He's not into me, that's obvious, I can't destroy this friendship we've built for years hyung. I'm contented that he's in my life."

"But what if he finds the one?" Beomgyu's smile falter, "Beom... you're gonna hurt yourself." Beomgyu knows, everyone knows, "I know hyung, I know."

"I'm ready"

He's ready to see Kai, his first and current love marry a girl. As he sees Kai cry about how beautiful his bride looks, a genuine smile creeps up, he won't be selfish, all he wants is for Kai to be happy, even if it wasn't in his arms. As long as Kai is happy, he's contented with that.

"I've known Kai for years, he's the sweetest person you'll ever meet. He has the purest heart, I know that for a fact. He's the light you see at the end of the tunnel, he's a sunshine as people say. So I'm happy he chose you Se-eun, please make him happy, I hope for the best, cheers to the both of you."

He's fine with this, maybe he'll be able to move on someday, not today, but someday. As long as Kai is happy, he's also happy.

As long as he has Kai in his life, he'll be alright.

My charger broke so I couldn't make a chapter, and we're currently practicing for our graduation so it's kinda busy.

It's embarrassing to say I kinda based the first few paragraphs to my first love who I'm still currently inlove with, a bit different but yeah.
