Subaru: the judges for this exam we're rational enough, someone like you should never be allowed to enroll in this school midoriya
Otto: Subaru is being kind of rude
Tarn: it's to make sure his students have the ability to survive, he gives tough love

Tarn: he lost his friend, and he want to prevent that again
