The year is 2062. My mind can’t help but ignore the eager chatter of my 9-year-old granddaughter and take in the scenery of the small delightful café. It brings back fond memories of when I was younger and overall just feels much nicer and welcoming than today’s classy modern diners. But my thoughts were interrupted when the radio began to play Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” and everyone in the room seemed to suddenly become aware and silent for a brief moment, shocked by the fact that the song was in English. My granddaughter slowly leaned in and whispered: “Nana, do you think that the DJ’s will get in trouble for playing this song on live radio?” And I had to admit, I was a bit unsure whether non-Asian music was allowed to be played publically anymore. #asianpopWILLtakeovertheworld
