"Hello?" Adira and Chrissy called out a few times as they made it to the bench in the woods were Chrissy had agreed to meet Eddie to do the drug deal. The sounds of the crickets in the trees around them reverbeated around them, shaking the leaves of the trees.

Adira noticed Chrissy begin to get increasingly anxious, her breaths became fast and uneven and she stared over at one of the trees, basically in a trance. "Hey, hey, Chris, you okay?" Adira quickly asked her, her voice was delicate and full of concern, not wanting to scare the girl but wanting to get her out of her frozen like trance.

Chrissy began to walk over to the tree that she was staring at, she had made no sign of hearing Adira. Her eyes went glassy with tears and her legs shuttered as she walked closer and closer to the wooden tower before them. Adira grabbed onto her wrist but it was like Chrissy couldn't even feel her, "Chris, hey come on, youre scaring me," Adira said in a desperate tone, "I don't think this was a good idea, lets just get out of here and go home okay," she tried to tug her friends arm, "Please Chrissy," she begged her

But then Adira suddenly saw it too... in front of them in the tree, it was a large grandfather clock, just attached to the trunk. Adira brought her hands to her eyes and rubbed them a few times, assuming that she had to be imagining things. Suddenly a few cracks cascaded across the glass like bolts of lightning, the sound of the shards, echoing through the woods around them with an eerie aura.

A moment later spiders began to bleed out of the cracks, sawrming over the old clock, covering it like a blanket as the small legs twiddled and tweaked, it was an endless supply of spiders as they ran off the clock and onto the trunk of the tree. Adira and Chrissy both stumbled back in fright as the spiders began to crawl over to them.

Adira felt her back run into something heavy and she couldn't help it as a small shriek fell from her lips, she quickly turned around, fist clenched at her side as she went to swing but she stopped herself just in time to see Eddie standing there with his hands raised in surrender, a small smile on his lips

"Sorry," he chuckled softly to the two of them, trying to calm the two of them down, "I didn't mean to scare you," Eddie explained to them and his face was suddenly full of concern as he looked at the two girls who both held a look of deep fear on their faces

Chrissy and Adira turned to look back at the tree and Chrissy finally noticed Adira once more and her eyes furrowed in confusion and surprise, "did you see it too?" she choked out softly, maybe if Adira had seen it too, than that meant that she wasn't going completely out of her mind. Nobody else could see what she had been seeing, but it appeared that Adira had just seen the living nightmare that she had just witnessed moments ago

"The creepy ass clock bulking out of the side of the tree with a bunch of fucking spiders crawling out of it?" She muttered to Chrissy who nodded her head softly, "yeah I fucking saw it," she muttered out, goosebumps were covering her skin and the hair on her freckled arms were sticking up

Eddie looked over at the tree, not seeing what they were looking at. He looked back down at them with a raised eyebrow, his eyes flicking back and forth between the blonde and the brunette, "are you guys high or something?" he muttered out to them, though he regretted saying it as soon as he did, it was clear that they were both scared out of their wits, and the fact that they were both seeing the same thing didn't exactly support the statement of them being high

"Lets just do this shit and get outta here," Adira muttered out and grabbed onto Chrissy's hand and then pulled her over to the table, the two of them sitting down and  practically gripping onto each others hands as if their lives had depended on it.

Eddie walked over to the other side of the table and dug through his backpack before pulling out a leather black case and then placing it down harshly on the table in front of them. The case looked old and slightly worn out, rust coated the metal clips and handle while the black leather was tearing, the stitching ripping open at the seems

"Cool drug case, where'd you get it? Bra's and things?" Adira muttered out sarcastically, using humour to try and get her mind off what the hell she had just seen, then she realised something good had come out of her coming, it meant that she could get some weed.

Eddie watched the two girls closely, confused as to what they had seen and why they were so jumpy. He pulled his jumper off and then went to sit down across from them, "there is uh... there is nothing to worry about okay," he told them as he sat down, doing his best to assure the girls that everything was okay, "no one ever comes out here," he muttered, worried that the girls were either scared of getting caught doing a deal, or scared of getting caught being around him, "we are safe."

Eddie then grabbed onto the case and began to open it, looking over the table at them with a look of pure sincerity, "I promise." Adira practically flinched at the word promise.

When had people ever been able to really keep their promises, at least the important ones that is? Promises are worse than lies. You don't just make them believe, you also give them hope. Like promising someone that everything is going to be okay, and it'll all work out in the end and when everything is over, you can be together finally without any worries... and then breaking that promise by leaving forever.

Eddie opened the case fully and then turned it to face Chrissy, wresting his chin on his hand as he awaited her decision

"So, how does this work exactly?" Chrissy asked softly, never actually having done a drug deal before, not expecting to do one any time soon until the events over the last few days

"Oh just like any other old sale, except uh, cash only," Eddie said and gave her a cheeky grin, "and uh, for obvious reasons, no receipts," he told her and tried to keep his eyes on Chrissy instead of allowing them to drift onto the girl next to Chrissy who was sitting there, looking down at the table, clearly thinking about something serious and maybe even something sad.

He could see her eyes becoming glassy and her cheeks turning to a rosy hue. He turned to look back at Chrissy, "I'll do you a half ounce for, uh... 20. What do you say?" He asked her, "its plenty of bang for your buck and it should last you  a while," Eddie explained to her.

There was suddenly a loud sound of scurrying behind the two girls, Chrissy let out a large gasp but both Adira and Chrissy turned quickly to look over at the source of the noise, cursing themselves for being so scared when they noticed that it was just a squirrel climbing up the tree.

Eddie looked between them both in confusion and thought only one thing, what the hell am I getting myself into?
