"What?" Toya asked, his mind reeling at the sudden question. Where did this even come from?

"Well," Izuku started, "a girl at school got her soul print today and everyone was trying to guess who her soulmate was because she couldn't remember who she touched. Then everyone started talking about who their soulmates could be and they ended up teasing me because if I don't have a quirk, how could I have a soulmate" the boy finished sadly.

Toyas heart broke at the tears that welled in bright emerald green eyes, but he didn't know what to say to make the tears stop.

He knew soulmates existed, knew that he probably had one just like his mother has one, maybe more like had.

Toya remembered when his mother received her soulprint, he remembered being confused that the pretty yellow mark dancing along her forearm didn't seem to match anything about his father. He was excited for her though, much more excited than she had been.

When he was little, his mother would tell him stories right before bed, and usually those stories revolved around a soulprint of some kind. He loved those stories and because of them couldn't wait to get his own soulprint so he could have his happily ever after like the storybook characters.

But his mother never looked happy to see the flowing lines of yellow streaming like sunshine the length of her arm. She started wearing long sleeves and slowly stopped reading him and his siblings stories. Then of course his quirk came.

He had been hopeful a long time ago and it seemed as though Izuku was still hopeful.

Toya wrapped his arms tightly around Izuku, pulling the boy even closer into the hug as Izuku cried.

"I think you do have a soulmate," Toya said after a few moments of silence.

"What?" Izuku sniffled. "You really think so?" the boy asked, nuzzling further into Toyas shoulders.

Toya nodded his head, humming in affirmation.

"Do you have one?" Izuku asked. Toya shrugged.

"I don't know"

Toya was very much a homebody. He wasn't necessarily a couch potato because he did like to move around and do stuff, but he very much didn't like crowds - big or small - and he definitely didn't like being in places where he didn't have easy access to the exits, much less see them.

Suffice it to say, he was not enjoying this impromptu trip to the mall.

Inko had decided Toya was going to help her with some sort of household project and apparently they had to take a trip to the mall for materials.

Izuku didn't mind the crowds in the slightest, in fact he seemed to enjoy it as he bounced in between and through the different people milling about.

Toya dutifully stayed by Inko's side, clutching tightly onto her hand as they both watched Izuku with a careful eye as he had fun and explored the different display windows.

A sudden gasp of excitement had Toya almost rushing over to the 5 year old to see what was the matter.

Izuku stared up at the display, awe shining in his big green eyes that were locked on a new All Might figurine standing beneath a new All Might poster.

Inko chuckled at the look of pure confusion on Toyas face.

"Here, why don't you see what has him so excited while I get everything we need?" Inko said, handing Toya some money, before nudging the 11 year old on his way.

Toya stuffed his hands in his pockets as he dragged himself to the heavily decorated storefront.

He frowned as he looked up to see a near life size rendering of a cardboard Endeavor standing next to a similar version of All Might.

When he looked down again he was met with the widest green eyes Toya had ever seen, like, they were literally the size of tennis balls. It was slightly unnerving.

"Toya-chan, look! They have the newest figure from All Might's silver age, isn't it amazing! It has everything!" Izuku rambled excitedly. "It's so accurate and detailed. Look, they even added the inscriptions on his wrist bands!"

"It's his catch phrase," Izuku said, turning his eyes to the figure only to look back at Toya with a beaming smile.

"Go beyond. Plus Ultra!" The greenette explained, pumping his fist up in the air before grabbing into the hem of Toyas sleeve and dragging the older boy into the store.

Toya didn't hate math, he certainly didn't enjoy it but he didn't hate it. Learn about fractions and decimals though, he can safely say, when he was done with this section he was done!

Izuku had left for school a couple hours ago and Inko was in her home office, not needing to actually go into work today.

Just as he was about to attempt dividing 438.25 by 981.3 he was suddenly hit with a wave of pain emigrating from his core.

Immediately his mind went to his quirk.

It's just acting up again. I'll be gone in a minute, he told himself, arms curled around his middle as he struggled not to bang his head on his desk.

After a few minutes the pain slowly ebbed away, allowing for Toya to finally breathe again as he let out a shuddering breath.

Once he could breathe normally again and he deemed himself fine, he picked his pencil back up to continue his math.

Unfortunately his body had different plans for him.

The second the graphite in his pencil touched the page the pain came back tenfold.

It was unbearable! He tried not to cry out, afraid of the ghost in his mind telling him he was weak and a disappointment.

Eventually the pain won out, increasing until Toya had no choice but to pass out. His head crashed against the desk only for him to fall ungracefully towards the floor, landing in the carpet with a loud thud.

Moments later Inko rushed into the room to see Toya lying unconscious on the floor, breathing heavily and still clutching his stomach.
