"U-Um, thanks," Ashley whispered back to Zyair. Brianna stopped clinging to Ashley and took a step back.
"No problem." Zyair's smile widened. Ashley coughed and continued speaking.
"I think we should pick weapons from the vault downstairs and start growing stronger. God has given us this chance to become stronger, but we don't know how much time he's giving us to do it. We have to kill the weaker monsters and level up quickly." Ashley made eye contact with everyone in the group and continued, "We should also save a few survivors who seem worthy to join our group. The goal is to be a small group of elites, but 4 is just too little." Zyair nodded at Ashley's words. Sasha's class as a jack of all trades might fill in the roles they needed, but she was just one person. She couldn't do the work of many people. "We should eat now. Then everyone will go down to the vault downstairs to pick a weapon." Ashley stated matter of factly and then glanced at Zyair.
Zyair smirked. "Is that my signal to get everyone food? Shouldn't the chef do that?" Zyair tilted his head and glanced at Sasha. Sasha nodded meekly and headed to the kitchen. She made a simple stew for everyone using beef and the stove. Electric appliances were still working, but they couldn't send messages. The aliens must be blocking off their communication. United we stand, divided we fall. They were keeping humanity divided so they fell faster.
Sasha served the beef stew with all the vitamins and protein they would need until their next meal. Ashley spoke up after the food was served. "I think we should also only eat 2 meals a day so our bodies get used to having little food. It's only a matter of time before we run out of ingredients and will have to hunt monsters. But the monsters will grow stronger and stronger and they'll probably be harder to eat, so it's necessary to train our bodies." Everyone nodded along to Ashley's words. Ashley sighed. She felt a little like a dictator. Everyone just nodded to whatever she said. "I think we should do breakfast and supper. Is everyone in agreement?"
Brianna spoke up. "I think we should do brunch and supper. Brunch is further away from waking up and isn't as close to supper as lunch is." Ashley nodded.
"That's good. Brunch and supper it is." They all sat down and ate the stew. once they were done they headed to the vault. Ashley, Brianna, and Sasha couldn't stop their mouths from widening when they saw the vault room. Every weapon they could think of was there! And it was all of the highest quality! Brianna kind of just glanced around. She was a healer so she didn't need any weapons, besides maybe some self-defense ones. Sasha ran to the long-range weapons. She was a jack of all trades, so her attack power was rather weak. Ashley furrowed her brows and looked around. Her class was one of a kind, carving her own path. She didn't know what to choose.
Zyair headed to the lance and spear section. He picked up a spear with an extra curved blade sticking out of the head. It looked similar to a halberd. Ashley just followed him as he picked up several weapons and stuck them to his body. he grabbed 2 daggers and stuck them into little loopholes that he attached to his belt then grabbed a thick broadsword and clasped it to his hip. So far he had the halberd, the daggers, and the broadsword. Ashley nodded her head. She had a choice to make. Raise her proficiency in all weapons or choose one weapon and focus on her strength in it. Zyair had gone with the prior, but Ashley felt something in the depths of her body rejecting the idea of picking up more than one weapon. "Maybe..." Ashley muttered to herself and started looking at the weapons. None of them seemed to satisfy the voice inside her that was guiding her. She kept walking and got to the spear section. She didn't like any of them, but once she got to the end she saw a silver scythe. She felt her heart rate speed up. This was the weapon. She reached her hand towards it.
"A scythe, huh? Good choice." Zyair appeared next to Ashley and caused her to flinch.
"You scared me." Ashley glared at Zyair before grabbing the scythe. it was rather heavy. She thought about giving it a little swing but decided against it. She glanced at Zyair again. "Is there a training room where we can use the weapons we picked out?" Zyair nodded and pointed to the room next door. Ashley said we, but she was the only one who had chosen. Sasha was stuck between two handguns and a bow and Brianna was looking at the swords.
