Chapter 28: Let me feed you

"Chaeyoung is eating with Dr Kim again." Jennie sulked and complained to Taeyong as she looked in their direction. They seem to be in some serious discussion.

"Didn't Chaeyoung say they are just discussing about the medical conferences? Why are you sulking?" Taeyong couldn't understand why Jennie was so bothered about Chaeyoung hanging out with Mingyu, "oh... could it be you are also interested in Dr Kim, like those nurses in your department?" Taeyong widened his eyes and looked at Jennie dramatically. Of course he was just kidding.

Jennie have a death stare, "Dr Kim is interested in Chaeyoung."

"Are you sure?" Taeyong squinted his eyes while looking over to Chaeyoung and Mingyu's table. He then chuckled and did not take what Jennie said seriously. Or rather, he has absolutely faith in his brother.

That afternoon, something happened in the hospital.

Jaehyun called Chaeyoung to let her know that he would be picking her up after her work ends to have dinner with his family.

"Yes, I will see- " Before Chaeyoung could complete her sentence, a man turned up at the hospital with a huge baseball bat in his hand. He spotted Chaeyoung then rushed towards her, "Dr Park, you are a murderer!" then raised the baseball bat and hit her head.

That blow caused Chaeyoung to drop her phone as she grabbed her head in pain. The man continued to hit her another time, this time round injuring her hand.

Luckily, the security guards of the hospital rushed over and captured the man. Chaeyoung also fainted from the blow of the hits.

"Chaeyoung! Did something happen? Chaeyoung!" Jaehyun was shouting into his phone frantically as he heard the commotion on the other side of the phone call. And the phone call ended. Jaehyun tried calling back but it was only until a few phone calls later then it was picked up.

"Chaeyoung, did something happen?" Jaehyun spoke as soon as he heard the call being picked up.

"Jaehyun, this is Jennie, Chaeyoung was injured and she fainted. The doctors are attending to her now." An obvious tremble and fear in her voice, causing Jaehyun to practically lose his cool.

He immediately left for Seoul hospital. Jaehyun arrived at the door of Chaeyoung's ward. Before he could make his way in, he heard an unfamiliar voice inside, causing him to halt his steps.

"Chaeyoung, don't be too affected by it. The hospital has investigated and the lady's death has nothing to do with you."

It turned out that Chaeyoung did not manage to save a patient who has been declared dead before being sent to the hospital after an accident. The family member had blamed it on the hospital and Chaeyoung as she was the doctor in charge. Hence, that man took it out on Chaeyoung.

Chaeyoung nodded lightly after hearing what Mingyu had said. Mingyu then continued, "I bought you some porridge, you should eat it so that you would recover faster." that voice sounded a little too gentle for Jaehyun's liking. Who could this person be?

"Thank you, but you don't have to go through the trouble next time." Chaeyoung replied politely.

"Silly, it's no trouble to care for you at all. Come, finish it up and rest."

Chaeyoung seemed to be struggling with the spoon since her hand was injured.

"Let me feed you.." Mingyu suggested gently after seeing how Chaeyoung was struggling.
