"It was nothing that weird or anything. I mean... eddie always drives like a maniac and the power goes off at my place all the time. It's a piece of shit. But... this morning, I started to think back and... I don't know. The look on his face," max mutteeed out to Dustin. Her mind drifted back to the night before, it was when Eddie had run out of his caravan and made his way to the driver side of the van. The look that was on his face, it was unmistakable. Pure horror.

"He was terrified Dustin. Really scared,  like shitting your pants kind of scared, I've never seen anyone look that scared before I swear," adira muttered out as the sinking feeling that she had felt from the night before suddenly returned to her stomach as she thought about the look that was on the boys face she he had ran outside, "I could practically feel the fear radiating off him, it made me scared." Adira choked out softly

"Maybe he was scared because he just, you know, killed someone," Max added, but she also seemed like she believed that Eddie hadn't been the one to kill Chrissy Cunningham, "or, maybe um... maybe because, I don't, I don't know maybe..." max was trying to figure out the best way to word what she wanted to say. She didn't want to sound crazy and she wasn't even sure what she believed at the moment

"Something else killed her," Dustin and Adira both replied, instantly picking up on what the girl was trying to say to the both of them. Adira felt her heart sink her chest at the thought, what if they hadn't killed the mind flayed, what if there was still a part of it in their world

Max nodded her head but she didn't say anything.

"But that's impossible right? I mean we killed that son of a bitch, it's gone" Adira answered quickly, she wanted more than anything to believe the words that were coming out of her own mouth, but no matter how hard she prayed, even she had a gut wrenching feeling that whatever was happening right now, had something to do with the upside down.

"I don't know," Dustin muttered out to the girl, a worried look on his face as he looked between the two girl, "there is only one person who knows what actually happened," Dustin explains

"Eddie..." Maxine and Adira said simultaneously

"But we don't even know where to start looking for him right, he's smart so he'd know that he's a number one suspect at the moment, he could be half way across the country by now," Adira exclaimed, "Hawkins is a small town and there aren't too many places to hide and once the news gets out about Eddie and Chrissy, it won't take oriole that long to find him."

"I doubt that he would have left Hawkins. He must be hiding out somewhere," Dustin explained to her and she nodded her head softly, she didn't doubt that Dustin knew a fair amount about Eddie so she deviant trusted him, not to mention Dustin was extremely intelligent and if anyone could find Eddie, she was sure it was him

"Poor Eddie, he's out there somewhere, he's probably freezing h-" she stopped mid sentence as her eyes widened, "what if something happened to him though, like if this really had something to do with the upside down... what if whatever it was, it hurt Eddie too?" She asked in worry

Dustin quickly shook his head, "Don't think stuff like that... besides if that were true, I'm sure Eddie would have been there to, with his bones all broken and stuff..." Adira cringed at the thought. She thought back to how she had found Chrissy and then imagined Eddie to look the same way. She quickly booked her eyes a few times to try and get rid of the thoughts

Adira honestly didn't believe that Eddie would have it in him to kill someone. Especially not someone like Chrissy.

As the three of them got ready quickly to go and find Eddie Munson, Adira tuned everything out around her. Tears burned her eyes as memories of her and Chrissy flooded through her mind, playing like an endless movie.

Chrissy had meant a lot to her, probably more than she ever would have liked to admit.

The two of them had known each other since they had started school. And with both of them coming from the more wealthy side of Hawkins, Adira spent a lot of her time over at the Cunninghams household when her family was away.

Her brother always invited his asshole friends over so she would sneak out of her window and ride her bike or skate over to Chrissy's house where her mum would answer the door and let her in with her cold, fake smile. It was a second home to her, and if she were asked to be honest, she would probably say that she saw it to be more of a home than her actual home.

The two girls practically grew up together, they shared similar interests, created memories and swore to grow old together... a promise they would now never get to fulfil

Because now, just like so many other important people in her life. Chrissy Cunningham was gone. Forced to leave the world too early.

"Have you talked to anyone else?" Dustin asked the tell of them as they made their way to the front door

"No," Adira and max replied, trying to keep up with the rushing boy

" I can't find Lucas or Nancy," max tried to explain to Dustin as he grabbed a bunch of random things and shoved them into his backpack

"And Mike is in California," Adira chimed in, her short legs struggling to keep up with the other two

"Shit shit shit," Dustin groaned as he realised how bad of a situation they were currently in

"Dusty where are you going?" Miss Henderson asked him in fright as she quickly stood up and went to make her way over to the kids. Her face heels a look of terror and Adira couldn't blame her, it had just been announced that a teen had been murdered in Hawkins, and caring mother would be trying to make her kid stay at home

"To see a friend," Dustin quickly answers as he flung the front door open, not really caring about what his mother had to say. He didn't have the time to just stand there and listen to his mothers rant, they had to get the hell out of there and go and find Eddie

"You heard the news, it's not safe!" Miss Henderson exclaimed to her son in fear as she looked between all three of the teens

"We'll be careful. Thanks. Love you. Bye," Dustin yelled back as he practically ran out of the front door

"Don't worry ma'am, I'll bring him back in one piece I promise!" Adira called out, she was the last one out the door all she quickly shut it behind her. She was happy that Dustin had such a great mum, he deserved a good parent who cares about him and looks after him, even if she was controlling and over protective. She was good for him.

Adira never had a relationship with her mother and she doubted that would change in the future. The only family she had was Steve, so she made her own family. A family that showed her what it meant to be loved and to be cared for

Dustin's mother on the other hand didn't feel the same way about Adira as the misunderstood teen had felt for for.

She thought that the teenager was a bad influence on her son and when things went bad, she always happened to be around or connected in some way.

She had dated Billy Hargrove, a boy who had had a notorious reputation around town, and whilst many had seemed to forget that after Billy was tragically lost in the 'mall fire' ms Henderson had remembered perfectly, and she doubted that someone who dated a boy like that, could be anything other than trouble
