Dexerella is actually one of my least favorite ships, because I honestly feel like Dexerella shippers are basically just taking the two left out characters and mushing them together simply because they both need partners. Plus, I feel like Marellinh and Detz are the best ships for Dex and Marella. I still understand why people ship it, but I personally do not.

This is a request from @Sarah_Starsky, your Diana oneshot will be coming out soon.

Enjoy!

✩Marella's POV✩

My Imparter sitting on my bed rang loudly, sending vibrations across the sheets. I reluctantly inched toward it and answered it. A strawberry blonde boy with periwinkle eyes and dimples flashed onto my screen, making me wish I picked up sooner.

"Can you come over and help me work on something?" Dex asked me as I smoothed my hair with my hands desperately.

"Sure!" I said, hanging up as Dex's dimpled smile left my screen.

"Who was that?" Sophie asked me, sitting on the bed beside me. I invited her over to hang out and watch some movies, and she was about to leave when Dex called me.

"Dex," I replied casually, praying that Sophie didn't make a huge deal about it. But a smirk played on her lips as she kept her mouth shut, making me flush a light pink color as I light leaped to Rimeshire.

The cold wind brushed against my thin jacket, blowing through the fabric to meet my skin. Distant yells of the triplets could be heard over the breeze and snowflakes fell down from the sky like rain. But no matter how cold the air around the house of Rimeshire was, the house itself would always have a warm, welcoming glow that my house lacked: one of the many reasons I spent more time at Dex's house than mine.

Lex waved at me with an arm wrapped with layers of warm mittens before getting pelted with a snowball lovingly given by Bex.

"Eat shit, Lex!" Bex yelled at the top of her lungs while throwing snowballs at Lex like one of those tennis ball machines Juline has in her human stuff collection.

"Language, Bex!" Juline yelled from inside the house, earning snickers from Rex and Lex, who were gifted more snowballs.

I smiled as I knocked on the door to the house, which a familiar strawberry blonde boy opened.

"Hey, Marella!" Dex said, grinning. "Come in!"

"Oh, hi sweetheart," Juline said to me from the kitchen. "Care for some cinnacreme?"

I nodded at Dex's mom, who looked at me, then Dex, then back to the kitchen. "You two have fun," she said before turning her attention back to the triplets.

"Rex, nobody needs to know that!" Juline yelled as I followed Dex back to his room. Dex's room was cluttered with screwdrivers and pieces of metal I didn't exactly understand.

Dex groaned as he sat down on his chair, spinning himself around on the mobile wheels with his feet. "Why does the Black Swan need so much stuff?" he complained, burying his head in his hands. When he looked up at me, I could see the shadows under his eyes and realized he probably pulled an all-nighter. Again.

"When you say Black Swan, you mean Sophie, right?" I asked him. Dex nodded tiredly.

"Don't get me wrong, I love Sophie, but I feel like I deserve a break sometimes, y'know?" Dex told me.

I snorted. "Tell me about it. Blondie has always been a master of taking people for granted." I realized a little too late that what I just said was not the best thing to say to Sophie's best friend, but before I could apologize, Dex nodded.

"I hate to say this, but I kind of agree. I just..." Dex sighed, getting off his chair and flopping onto his metal-covered bed. He remained silent, deep in thought for a moment.

"Why am I the only one working nonstop?" he asked nobody in particular. "Keefe, Fitz, Biana, Tam, and Linh don't seem to be drowning in work. So why am I?"

"That's because you forget to take breaks," I pointed out, sitting down next to him. "How about you go to sleep for once?"

Dex looked up at me again with half closed periwinkle eyes before nodding.

"Thank you," he told me. I blushed rosy pink, but simply nodded as he closed his eyes and rested his head on a patch of his blanket he cleared of any gadget fragments.

"No problem," I whispered, before gathering the metal and piling it on his desk before sitting back down and waiting for Dex to wake up.
