I woke up the next day feeling like a truck had run over my head. Opening my eyes, I had to squint away from the sunlight flowing in from the gap in the curtains. I patted my bed for my phone and sat up when I couldn't find it, my eyes glancing at the clock I had on my nightstand that read 11:43 a.m.

This was the latest I've ever woken up ever since I arrived in Tuscany and I was tempted to lie down and go to sleep again. The pounding in my head continued and only worsened as I stood up to head to my closet. I was freezing cold and fought it with the thickest sweater I had which was an oversized white knitted one. I felt horrible and probably looked the part, heading to the bathroom to brush my teeth.

When I had finished freshening up, I was about to make my way downstairs when I noticed something odd. A blanket and a few cushions were neatly placed on the couch that was placed by the right side of my bed. I don't remember putting that there.

Heading downstairs, I was greeted by the smell of food and the confusion on my face disappeared when I saw the person currently standing in my kitchen. Charles was holding a spatula as he leaned on the counter opposite the stove, still wearing yesterday's clothes. A few plates were already set on the counter and I titled my head when I saw that they were all placed on a tray.

"Charles?" I called and he turned around.

"Hey, you're up." He said smiling and turning off the stove. I sat down on one of the stools as he placed some eggs on each plate that was out before grabbing some juice from the refrigerator. He went over to where I was and sat down on the stool next to mine before placing his hand on my forehead. I leaned back in surprise but that didn't stop his skin from making contact with mine. "Good, your fever's gone."

"I had a fever?" I asked, not remembering anything. The last thought in my head was Charles giving me a piggy back ride upstairs and me falling asleep.

Charles nodded as he began eating and I followed. "Just a few degrees above the normal. I hope you don't mind, but I ended up staying with you because I couldn't leave you alone while being sick." So that explains the cushions and the blanket. His back must be aching right now because that couch may be comfortable for sitting but definitely not for sleeping long hours.

"Thank you." I smiled, nudging his shoulder with mine. "I still have a bit of a headache but that'll pass. I'm used to going through these things."

"You need to take care of your health." Charles frowned as he leaned his left elbow on the counter and looked at me seriously. I was tempted to laugh in amusement at how stern he suddenly became but chose not to. "Especially with your lifestyle. Don't forget to sleep at least seven hours as well."

With my line of work, there would be times where sleep isn't the priority but I nodded my head nevertheless. "Yes, Doctor Leclerc. Should I fire my trainer and just hire you instead?"

"Ha, ha." He rolled his eyes. I resumed eating but he didn't touch his food again, eyes thinking as he tapped his fingers on the countertop. I was halfway with my plate when he placed a black ring in between us. "Here, you can have this."

I scrunched my eyebrows at him before picking up the ring and examining it closely. It was one of the two black rings he always wore on his right hand and this was the one on his pinky while the other still on his index finger. I held it up to my face and saw some sensors inside. "What are those for?" I asked him, pointing to the green sensors.
