He was never good enough for those girls.
He was never smart enough. Never strong enough. Never tall enough. Never rich enough. His career didn't have enough prospects. He wasn't funny enough. He didn't look enough like that one celebrity. His car wasn't expensive enough. He never spent enough time with them. He wasn't outgoing enough. He just wasn't enough for them.
And then she walked into his life, and everything changed.
She didn't care what degrees he had, or how much he could bench. She didn't care about his height or how much money he made. She didn't care where he worked or whether he knew the best standup routines. She could care less if he looked like that heartthrob or what model his car was. Money didn't impress her, and she knew he needed time alone sometimes, and that was okay with her.
All that mattered was that she loved him and he loved her, and that was enough.
