Izuku's POV
It's been about two weeks since I've gotten the cat, and my sleep seems to have improved a lot. Last night I went out on patrol again and it felt so...good. I needed that. I've decided to name her Magni after the Norse goddess of strength. She seems to have taken to it, and we've gotten along pretty well. She's a mostly outdoorsy cat, so I go on walks with her every night after I close. She's been pretty friendly with the patrons of the cafe, and it just seems to keep getting better.
This morning, however, I felt like things were off. I got this itchy feeling, and a nervous drop in my stomach at random points throughout the day. I keep my eyes peeled for anything suspicious going on around me. While I'm looking around, two people walk in and sit at a booth, looking up at me every now and then. I have a feeling that those are the two, and I walk over to them.
"Excuse me, how may I help you today?" I take note of their appearances, looking for any sign of a weapon on their persons. I find nothing, but I'm still cautious. The one has black hair and blueish grey eyes. Most of his skin looks burnt and stappled on, but that doesn't really make him suspicious to me. The other has blonde hair in a pair of buns and yellow eyes. She has a schoolgirl outfit on and a huge smile. Her smile reveals a few fangs.
"U-umm. W-w-we're huge fans of you. Especially your escapades at night." The girl blushes and smiles wider after saying that, and I sort of panic. I manage a calm face and sit down next to them.
"Am I that obvious?" The two look at me and shake their heads. I blank on how they could know until a small connection makes it's way to my brain. "Ah, I see. So you guys work for him?"
"Yeah, although it's not ideal. I'm just doing it to spite a family member." I look over to the guy next to me and nod, seeing the connection between him and someone I hate. "She's here because the League say that you're still working with them. We came to see if that's true. However, gotta say, I wouldn't think so after that whole speech after you took down the Hero Killer."
I feel my blood boil a bit. "That son of a bitch. I can't believe he's using my name and image for evil. I'm just doing this to help people. I even said I don't ally myself with him anymore. Goddamn idiot. Fucking Christ." They stare at me throughout my entire rant.
I look up and shake my head, regaining a bit of level internally. "Well, it doesn't matter. If you guys are up for it, I might have a bit of a job for you." They look at each other for a second before slowly nodding. "Well, how about you guys be my spies. Get me intel and when I finish bringing them down, you can work for me fully. I'll teach you and keep you on as my disciples."
They glance at each other and have a conversation solely through their eyes. I patiently sit and wait, and after a few minutes, they turn to me and agree to my deal. "Good. Glad we came to an arrangement. I have a hero friend, so I'll tell him I have some people on the inside in case he goes after you guys." They seem slightly put off by that, but brush it off. "Seeing as we'll be working together in the future, I'll bring you each something on the house."
They smile and I walk away, getting two pieces of chocolate cake. I walk back over, drop off the food, and go back to work. Having people on the inside will do me a lot of good. And if things start to go south for me, I can just use the info they gave me to sell out the League. I'd have to tell those two to get out first, but still.
I must have zoned out for a second, because someone is at the counter staring at me. I zone back in and go to greet the person, only for it to be someone I recognize from somewhere. I don't remember where, but I do recognize her. She has pink skin and horns on the top of her head.
"Hi, and welcome to the Home Away From Home Cafe. How may I help you today?"
"Hey, I'm just stopping by to meet a friend here. She said she comes by here a lot. I figured I'd order for her before she gets here. I'd like a cup of Earl Grey tea with honey in it and some green tea."
"Alright. Any food with that?"
"Sure. Two pieces of strawberry shortcake, please." I write the order down and ask her for a name, and she says Ashido. I recognize the name from the U.A. Sports festival. She's one of Uraraka's classmates.
"Hey, you're in U.A., right?" She smiles and nods. "So the friend you're meeting is Uraraka, right?" She nods again. "Got it. Don't worry about paying, it's on the house. Don't tell any of your classmates that, I still need to make some money." She smiles and sits down. I get started on the order and zone out again. I need to keep Aizawa off my trail while also keeping him informed about what's going on in the League. But I also need to limit that information so I can keep some in case I get arrested.
I eventually zone back in, noticing that I finished everything while I zoned out. I walk over and see Uraraka sitting with the Ashido girl. She has her head in her hands and is shaking her head while the pink girl laughs. I set their stuff down and go to walk away, only for me to pulled back. I look at Ashido and give her a questioning glance, and she tells me to keep quiet.
"So, what do you even like about this guy. Midoriya, right?" I can feel my eyes nearly pop out of my head and my face turn several different shades darker red. She has to stifle a laugh and continues to prod at Uraraka. "He just looks so...bland."
"Well, I find him handsome. He's really nice and funny and smart. I like talking to him. He's gentle and always tries to make sure people are comfortable around him, which is easy. He's just perfect in my eyes." I have to walk away before I explode, but I just keep having one thought repeat over and over as I walk back.
Uraraka has a crush on me.
