1.) What is your name and age? (if you are comfortable telling us)
• I am Paree and I am 18 years of age.
2.) How did you first land on wattpad?
• It was during the lockdown when I came across this app. I was bored to no extent during the lockdown and then I asked my friend what to do so she told me to read some books on online reading apps. It was then I came across Wattpad.
3.) What made you want to start writing? What was your inspiration?
• I was bored during lockdown and after reading the books on Wattpad I was quite fascinated. Imagination and ideas arose in my brain and I thought why not pen them down.
I am not sure of inspiration but I have always found difficulty in expressing myself and I thought to try to express myself by my writing skills.
4.) From where do you get the ideas of your books?
• I get ideas and imaginations from my surroundings and the daily happenings in people's life. Movies, songs, instagram reels, pictures etc help me get ideas too.
5.) Which genre book are you currently writing? And what are the other genre that you wish to explore in future?
• I am currently writing mystery/thriller and dark romance/romance genre. I wish to explore paranormal, fantasy and teen fiction. I don't want to stop writing neither do I want to write in same genre so I want to keep exploring doesn't matter if get successful in that particular genre or not.
6.) What will you advice to the aspiring, new writers?
• My advice to the aspiring writers is that you should never stop penning your imagination and ideas. Don't give other's the power to control you instead you should hold the power to make yourself believe that what you are writing is the best. Just try to be original and keep your insecurities aside. You'll do excellent.
7.) Which 5 books of Wattpad authors, do you love the most?
• This is a really tough questions because I have too many favourite books but some of them are-
8.) Do you pre-plan the things that you write or it comes to you as you write the story?
• I do pre-plan the story structure, characters and the main setting but the rest I write as the ideas come to my mind because I use ideas about story from my surroundings so whenever I feel I can use this as a scene, I write it.
9.) What motivated you to start writing?
• In the beginning nothing motivated me but after few months when my work started getting recognition, the precious comments and votes from my sweet readers, their constant request of frequesnt update motivated me. It still motivates me and now my love for writing has increased thousand times.
10.) What are the challenges that you face while writing?
• I am a school student and I have to balance both studies and writing. Sometimes when I get assignments, homework, work from coaching institute etc. I don't get time to update regularly. Some readers understand but some don't which is a big challenge for me.
Writer's block is another difficulty most of the writer's including myself face. It becomes hard for me to concentrate and develop new ideas.
11.) How do you feel and what do you do when readers criticize you or your work?
• I have recently faced criticism when I published my book 'Escaping the Stalker'. It is heartbreaking but i accept both criticism and applause. When my readers criticise the storyline or characters, I try to take it as a compliment.
My mother has always taught me to never step back from any situation or work because not everyone will appreciate you. There will be people who'll criticise you but it depends on you whether you take it as a compliment or not. She has encouraged me very much in my Wattpad journey.
12.) Do you write secretly? Or does your family knows? If yes, then how do they feel about it?
• Earlier I used to write secretly but after a few months I told my cousins and mother about it. My father still doesn't know about it and I don't plan to tell him either as he's kinda strict who wants me to focus on studies more.
At first my family didn't believe about it because I have never tried anything like this so it came out as a shocker for them but they support me.
They know writing has become an important part of my life so they try to encourage me to keep going on.
13.) Wanna ask or say anything to your readers?
• Writing is still a new experience for me and I am trying to get more and more better at it. I just want the support and love of my readers. It's their comments and votes who motivate me and encourage me to keep writing so Thank you my lovely readers.
A writer is nothing without its readers so I just want my readers to not be a silent reader, they should share their thoughts and reviews. I get to know about their feelings and emotions.
Another thing is I want my reader to be patient and cool. I don't want them to make conclusion in between the story because every story has its own twist and turns so be calm and enjoy this journey with me.
Lastly thhank you again for being so loving, caring and suppotive towards me. It means a lot. I have earned a big family here on Wattpad and I don't want to disappoint them.
