Y/n's pov

The next morning, the five of us headed back to Eddie's hideout with some food and supplies.

"Jesus!" Eddie jumped back as Dustin slammed the door opened.

We all peeked in with bags in our arms.

"Delivery service." Dustin smiled goofily.

Eddie sighed and Steve waved at him.

——

Eddie shovelled the cereal we had bought into his mouth as if it was his last meal.

"So we got some good news and some bad news." Dustin said from where he sat. "How do you prefer it?"

"Bad News First, always." Eddie spoke with his mouth full.

"Alright. Bad news, we tapped into the Hawkins PD dispatch with our Cerebro, and they're definitely looking for you." Dustin said.

"Also, they're uh, pretty convinced you killed Chrissy." I added.

"Like a hundred percent kinda convinced." Max said.

"And the good news?" Eddie asked.

"Your name hasn't gone public yet. But if we found out about you, it's only a matter of time before others do too and once that gets out everyone and their shallow-minded mother is gonna be gunning for you." Robin said.

"Hunt the freak, right?" Eddie looked up at Robin.

"Exactly." She said.

"So- before that happens, we need to find Vecna, kill him and prove your innocence." Dustin said cheerfully.

"That's all, Dustin?" Eddie asked sarcastically. "That's all?"

"Yeah." Dustin's voice went a pitch higher. "No, that's, that's pretty much it."

"Listen, Eddie. I know everything Dustin is saying sounds totally delusional but we've actually been through this kind of thing before." Robin said.

"Yeah, except it was with evil Russians and a gate to another dimension last time." I said.

"I mean, they have a few times-" Robin said as Eddie looked to Steve, who nodded.

"Going on our fourth." I held up four fingers.

"-And I have once." Robin continued. "Mine was more human flesh-based like Y/n said and theirs was more smoke related but bottom line is, collectively I really feel like we got this." She finished.

"Yeah, see we usually rely on this girl who has super powers but uh, those went bye-bye so uh-" Steve butted in as Dustin and I nodded along.

"So we're technically in-in more of the-" Robin waved her hands around.

"Kind of a.." Steve searched for the word.

"Brainstorming phase." I said.

"Brainstorming." Steve snapped his fingers and pointed at me.

"There- there- there's nothing to worry about." Dustin's voice went high again.

Steve scoffed as if there was definitely nothing to worry about, even though there most definitely was.

Dustin, Steve and I smiled at Eddie, half reassuring and half awkward.

Eddie gave us an 'are you serious' look as sirens erupted in the background.

"Shit." Steve said.

"Tarp." Robin said hastily. "Tarp!"

"Tarp!" I repeated, flinging it over Eddie.

The rest of us rushed to look through the windows as police cars and fire trucks zoomed by.

"Get in the car!" Steve shouted to us.

"Stay here Eddie!" Dustin whisper shouted before he slammed the door.
