Bad Dream

Prompt: Dream and George's child coming to sleep with them after having a bad dream.

(Another Parent AU cuz yasssss)

No one's POV

9:30 pm

Dream and George were watching Luca with Clare on the couch because she said she wants to watch it, they agreed cause it's their daughter of course.

They were in the middle of the movie when Clare pointed at the tv screen.

"Daddy! He looks like you!" Clare exclaimed, talking about Luca who has the same curly hair and brown eyes as George

"Yeah, i do" George smiled

Dream chuckled.

"How about me? Who am i there?" Clare thought for a second before she pointed at Alberto, who had dirty blonde hair and green eyes like Dream

"That's you Papa!" She got upset after saying that

"Hey, what's wrong?" Dream asked with concern

"Why you and Daddy turned into fishies?" Clare pointed at the screen again

George was quietly laughing while Dream was left by himself and have to explain to her that it was just an animated movie.

"No sweetie, we're not them" Dream pointed at a scene where they were at the water, swimming "they turned into fishies by magic, but me and daddy are not actually them"

"Oh okay!" she smiled

While Clare was busy watching the movie, George whispered at Dream's ear.

"She thought you can turn into a fish Dream" he giggled

"Oh come on, she thought you the same as well" George gave him a small eye roll

The movie finished.

George helped Clare put on some pajamas first before he joins Dream in their bedroom and Clare to sleep by herself in her own bedroom.

"Goodnight Daddy! Goodnight Papa!" she waved at them before she went to her bedroom

George closed their door before he cuddled with Dream on the bed.

11:00 pm

The lovebirds were peacefully sleeping, Clare on the other hand, couldn't even close her eyes for 5 minutes.

She was having one of her bad dreams, or nightmares if you want to call it.

She thought back to the movie they watched earlier. What if she also becomes one of those fish people? And what would people do to her if she does become one? Just like how everyone threatened the 2 boys at the end of the movie.

She hugged one of her teddy bears close, but that didn't work.

Then later, tears spilled out of her eyes.

She stood up from her bed while clutching a green teddy bear and opened the door, on her way to her parents' bedroom.

She knocked on their door.

"Daddy?" She called

She knocked again.

"Papa?"

Thankfully, Dream groaned and woke up from just 2 knocks while his husband was slightly snoring next to him.

Dream opened the door and saw Clare with a tear stained face.

"Aww, what's wrong?" He bended down to her level

"Can't sleep Papa" she sniffled

"Do you want to sleep with us?" Dream asked

She nodded.

Dream carried her over to the bed and closed the door.

George felt something move next to him. He slowly opened his eyes and saw Clare crying.

He immediately sat up and hugged the crying girl.

"Aww, why are you crying honey?" George asked while slightly swaying both of them back and forth to calm her

"I have bad dream..." she whispered

"What was your bad dream?" Dream asked and joined them on the bed

"Luca turned into fishie, w-will i too?" She asked

Both George and Dream stared at her.

"What? No you won't" George pushed away some of her hair on her eyes "that was just a movie sweetie, it's not real, i promise" he reasurred

"Promise?" She held her pinky out

"I promise" George held her pinky with his own pinky finger but not after Dream pushed his hand away and replaced it with his pinky to not feel left out

George playfully glared at Dream which made Clare giggle.

"How about we go back to sleep?"

George yawned.

"I'll take that as a yes" Dream chuckled

The 3 of them all laid down. George on the left, Dream on the right and Clare in between them.

Dream and George took the covers which made Clare cover herself too.

They all snuggled up together and went to sleep. Clare's bad dream was quickly forgotten.
