"These must be the only ones awake, the others must still be in hibernation." The Doctor quietly said to Vanadey and Nasreen as the trio were getting taken somewhere. They walked past green plants, and it seemed to have been raining inside the place. It baffled Vanadey. If they were so far down, near the mantle of the Earth, how the heck was it raining?

"So, why did they go into hibernation in the first place?" Nasreen questioned as the Doctor clutched Vanadey's hand tightly. He kept flickering his gaze around the place, slightly in awe at how the Silurian's had managed to survive this far down in the Earth.

"Their astronomers predicted the planet heading to Earth on a crash course." The Doctor explained, which Vanadey hummed towards.

"Let me guess...the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs?" She said, partially sarcastically. However, when the Doctor shook his head, she scoffed.

"They built life underground and put themselves to sleep for a millennia in order to avert what they thought was the apocolypse. When, in reality, it was the moon, coming into alignment with the Earth." The Doctor further explaining what the Silurian's had done.

"They're that old?" Vanadey whispered and the lizards spun around and hissed a little, she pursed her lips, giving them a small wave of an apology. "Oops." The Doctor shook his head with a fond smile on his face.

"How can you know that?" A lizard - the Doc lizard - asked the Doctor, who raised his brows a little.

"Long time ago, i met another tribe of homo reptilia, similar, but not identical." The Time Lord answered, bringing Vanadey closer to himself as the Doc lizard seemed to have been getting a little too close for comfort.

"Others of our species have survived?" Restac asked, a little bit of hope within her eyes at the thought. However, it was merely more hope of a bigger army to take over the Earth, wasn't it? However, the Doctor blinked a little whilst slight tears welled in his eyes. It always pained him when innocent aliens were slaughtered for nothing. He could understand the humans more if the aliens had hurt them or threatened them, but when the aliens do nothing...his heart goes out for them.

"The humans attacked them." He said sadly, guilt lacing his tone and features. Enough so, that Vanadey noticed and softly rubbed his arm with her free hand, trying to console him a little. "They died, i'm sorry."

" A vermin race." Restac spat with pure hatred, which made Vanadey frown. Her sister - although not biological - was human. Restac turned and walked off, the Doc lizard following after.

Glancing at his companions, the Doctor began walking after them.

"You're not authorised to do this!" The Doc lizard exclaimed in a quiet tone as the group had walked into a luxurious, golden room. Vanadey was in awe, to be honest. She looked around, the place reminded her of where she was when she was unconscious.

With her mum...her step-dad...her actual dad who fucked off because he was a big baby...Malaki and Isolde...Berak...Vanadey sighed. She'd never get to see them again.

And she was okay with it.

"I'm authorised to protect the safety of our species while they sleep." Restac spat with still so much venom in her tone.

"They're no better than the humans." Vanadey whispered to the Doctor, who hummed at her, silently asking her to continue what she was saying. "They will protect their home, so will the humans. Why don't they just form a truce?" When a guard poked his gun into Vanadey's back, making her yelp, the Doctor spoke up.
