IT IS WINTER BREAK, the day is currently December 22nd and we three days away from Christmas!

I was reading a book in the living room as I feel a sharp pain in my head, I looked up to see Ruby with a shoe. "Did.. you just hit me with a shoe?" I stuttered as something liquid started to drip from my head.

I brought my hand up to my head as I felt the liquid, I brought it back down and saw the Blood.

"You disgraceful child! I heard you've been talking to that Blythe boy!" She said as she then slapped me in the face and I stood up. My eyes started to form tears and they then dropped down my cheeks.

"Yes.. I have.." I whispered as I back away slowling only to realize I was in a corner.

"You should not talk to that boy! He is a Lord or a Nobel! Neither does he have any money!" Ruby yelled at me as I tried to shrink myself in the corner only to realize it was pointless.

She then walked closer to me as I started to sob, and then she stricked again.

"It is not like I am going to marry Gilbert!" I shouted at her feeling a little brave but then she smacked me in the head again with the shoe. "Don't you dare yell at me!" She yelled back as she put her disgusting ugly face in front of mine.

"You are correct! You will not marry him! If I find you talking to any other boy that dosen't have money I will make you marry someone!" She screamed at me as she backed away and dropped shoe.

"I am not even 17 yet!" I yelled at her as I walked up to her with rage imagining her doing that. "Does it look like I give a damn?" She yelled at as she slapped me.

I was so fed up with her, I punched her in the nose as I gasped ad realized what I did.

"YOU UNGRATEFULL BRAT HOW DARE YOU LAY A FINGER ON ME!" She yelled as walked backwards towards the bookshelf and then grabbed all the books she could and threw them at me.

I started to groan as the pain from my head was to much for me to handle.

I then heard foot steps coming from behind us, as Ruby turned around she grinned as she saw my brother, Gale.

"Come to join the show?" She grinned as she then grabbed my brother from his hair and dragged him over to where I was and then threw him into the wall.

"Don't touch him!" I screamed as I grabbed one of the books from the floor and threw it at her head as she backed away. I kneeled to the floor to check if my brother was okay as he started to wimper.

I heard Ruby run to the kitchen and I was reliefed for a second thinking she left, but I was wrong.

As she entered the living room again I looked up to see her holding a shiny object. She then grabbed me by my hair and pushed me up against the wall and held the object to my throat as I realized it was a knife.

"Not so tough now huh?" she snickered as she held the knife closer to my neck.

"Here is what you will do, you will clean up this mess, get yourself cleaned up and put some make up on your bruises and scars and pretend that NOTHING happened." She explained as she grinned.

"If you do tell your father, you'll be dead as a skunk" Ruby said as she moved the knife from my neck and sliced my arm opened.

I screamed in pain as I fell to the ground, but there was nobody here to hear my pain.

The cook was in Charlotte Town getting groceries, the maid was also in Charlotte town buying new dresses for Ruby and Louis has gone with dad to London for one more day.

"Do as I say now!" Ruby said as she dropped the knife to the ground and I put my arm around my brother who was 9 months younger than me as we both cried silently in the cold winter afternoon.
