ZIA couldn't stop grinning. She was the happiest she had been in a long time.Ferrari.
It was really happening.
The team she had idolised since she was in primary school, the sleek, shiny, red cars that brought so much joy to her life during her childhood— that gave her the fuel for her life... and now one was going to be hers.
Just hers to drive, her's to love, and her's to win with.
A head of blonde hair came rushing towards her down the pitlane, and and Zia grinned widely, opening her arms ready to catch Alice as she hurtled into her best friend.
"Ah you did it!" Alice exclaimed, as the two girl twirled around, hugging each other tightly. "Zia to Ferrari! Zia to Ferrari!" she chanted, as two dark haired boys walked up to the pair of giggling girls, admiring Zia's thrilled expression.
"Shut up Ali before you tell the whole journalist pack!" Alex chuckled as Alice pulled away from Zia, leaving room for Alex to give his friend a hug. "Proud of you Zia."
Zia smiled and hugged Alex back, before giving a big hug to Lance, who lifted her up slightly. "Oh you're a cracking racer Z." Lance admitted, putting the Powman girl back down on the ground. "And you're welcome, by the way." he teased her.
Zia pulled away and pushed Lance back, rolling her eyes, "Yeah yeah, whatever. Thanks mate."
Lance shrugged. "I only did what was needed."
Alice piped up again, Alex's arm now draped around her shoulder, "Hey, some of us were going to join Red Bull to celebrate Max's win, you coming?"
Zia shook her head, "I can't, Binotto wants me and Charles on the next flight to Italy pronto. He wants the contracts signed before mid-day tomorrow by the looks of it." she joked.
Alice smiled, "Okay, well I'll just drink double to make up for it." she teased.
Zia nodded. "Thanks Ali."
As the three began to walk away, Zia paused, and called Lance back. He jogged back up to her, and she whispered something in his ear, asking him to do her a favour. He looked confused, but agreed, and rushed back off to Alice and Alex, leaving Zia to walk back to her hotel and collect her things.
GEORGE stood at the bar, having changed out of his race-wear and into some nicer clothes for the celebrations. It was unfortunate in his eyes the title didn't go the way of Lewis, but, Mercedes had one the constructors championship, and he had done his last race with Williams, so, he had his excuses to get a drink.
Plus, he wanted to see Zia again.
He felt someone grip his shoulder, and turned to see Lance smiling at him. "Happy new seasons mate." Lance said, his Canadian accent very prominent after a few drinks.
George smiled and shook Lance's hand vigorously. "Cheers mate, congratulations on the finish."
"Congratulations on the Mercedes." Lance joked in return.
George laughed and took his bottle of beer from the bar counter, taking a sip, before leaning against the counter and turning to Lance. "Have you seen Powman anywhere?" he asked, at an attempt to be nonchalant.
"That's what I needed to see you about, she asked me to speak to you since she won't be here tonight-"
George frowned at this slightly, but let Lance continue. "-She told me to 'thank you for everything', and 'she'll see you in Bahrain'."
