Lucy POV -

After a long flight, we finally landed in Italy. I couldn't help but feel extremely nervous. Jasper noticed this and held my hand sending me calm feelings. We got settled into our hotel room and Jasper informed me about the different kings and their gifts and personalities. After this, we decided to make our way to the castle. We stuck to alleyways and generally darker places so Jasper wouldn't look like a disco ball.

When we finally arrived at the castle, I couldn't help but marvel at how gorgeous it looked. Grabbing Jasper's hand we look at each other in reassurance. Opening the door, we are greeted by the very human receptionist.

"Hi, Welcome to the Volturi Castle. How can I help you?" she says with a smile.

"We are here to see the kings. Tell them Jasper Whitlock-Hale and Lucy Swan are here," Jasper tells her. She nods and goes off to tell the kings.

We sit and wait until the receptionist comes back with two others. Jasper straightens up and greets them. "Jane, Felix,"

"Jasper... please come with us. The kings will see you now," Jane says. We follow after them.

We walk for what seems to be forever until we arrive at some grand doors. I take a huge breath and prepare myself for what is about to happen.

"Jasper it is so good to see you," a man announces when we walk in. Looking around I see the two other kings. One with blonde hair is looking at me like I am dirt on his shoe and the other with long dark hair is looking at me and Jasper with awe.

"Aro, this is my mate Lucy Swan," Jasper introduces me. I give Aro a small smile.

"Pleasure to meet you finally Lucy. Do you mind opening your mind to me?" Aro asks me holding his hand out. I put my hand in his and waited for him to be finished.

A few minutes passed when Aro was finally done.

"Wow, not only do you have an extremely close bond with your father but your sister is another matter," he went on to explain how Bella was behaving.

"Aro let's just get onto why they are here," the blonde one who Jasper had informed me was Caius harshly said.

"Yes, the matter of you turning," Aro said.

"We have planned for Lucy to turn after she has graduated, it will give her time to sort out any loose ends," Jasper told them.

"I see," Aro starts off before he is interrupted by Marcus.

Aro puts his hand in Marcus' and is shocked when he sees what he sees.

"It is very rare to see a bond like this. Jasper, Lucy, you are true mates. Soulmates." Aro states in awe.

I see Caius sit up at this notion.

"Are you sure Marcus?" Caius asks.

"Absolutely," Marcus replies.

"Can someone please explain what's going on," I say a little irritated.

Aro turns to us and says, "You my dear have a very rare bond with Jasper. Mates are very common, but you and Jasper are true mates. This essentially means that nothing can tear you two apart. The bond is sacred in our world. No one would dare to try and separate you if they knew what is good for them,"

"Wait so what is the difference between normal mates and true mates?" I ask in confusion.

"Normal mates can go through their bad patches, just like human couples, they can spend extended time apart, but true mates, are literally perfect for each other. They very rarely argue and can barely spend any extended time apart," Aro explains.

Thinking back, me and Jasper have never had an argument, and whilst we do have time apart it is never for too long or too far away. Knowing that me and Jasper have this connection is very comforting.

"There is something else I'd like to discuss with you," Aro tells us. We both nod and wait for him to begin talking.

"I saw something in your memories. They looked like children of the moon," Aro states which send Caius into a fury.

"WE MUST KILL THEM!" He screams.

"No, no they are not children of the moon. They are shifters, the moon doesn't control their shifts. They protect their land and people," Jasper hurries out. He offers his hand to Aro, to which he takes.

After a few minutes, Aro gives us a small smile.

"They are right brothers, they perceive no threat to us, much like us they try their hardest to hide the supernatural world," Aro tells Marcus and Caius. Marcus nods and Caius reluctantly nods too.

"Now I also saw your father is going to be informed about the shifters and you would like permission for him to be told about the existence of vampires?" Aro asks looking at me.

I nodded giving him a nervous look.

"Well, if you do not mind, I would like to discuss this with my brothers," Aro says and then turns to Felix, "Felix, could you escort our guests to the reception area."

Felix then guides us to where we had initially met him. I sit there bouncing my leg worrying about everything. Jasper had a text from Rose informing us that by the time we come back, they will be back too. Edward's mate included.

SOMETIME LATER-

Felix comes back and tells us the kings have reached a verdict.

We walk behind him and nothing else is said. After the long walk, we are back in the throne room.

"We have made our decision, we will allow your father to know about our existence with a few conditions," Aro begins to tell us. "Your father can only be told if he is told about the existence of the shifters, and if your father does tell anyone about us, we will kill him."

I nod knowing they are being very generous.

"Thank you, my kings, I can assure Charlie will not tell anyone about our existence if it meant putting Lucy at risk," Jasper tells the kings. I thank the kings myself and as we are leaving Aro stops us.

"Please let us know when you are turned. It would be a pleasure to see if you have a gift," Aro says before adding something else, "regarding your sister, I want to see how this plays out. So we will be keeping an eye on her." Me and Jasper look at each other and nod at the kings before finally leaving.

When we were outside the castle it was dark and I could finally breathe. Jasper and I walk back to our hotel in silence, taking in what had happened.

IN THE HOTEL ROOM-

When we got into our room, Jasper hugs me and asks me if I am okay. I reply to him that I am. Getting ourselves ready for bed, we discuss what might happen now that Edward has found his mate. We began mentally preparing for what is to come and planned on doing some shopping before we would leave to go back home.

Were things finally beginning to look up or not??
