For July's tips and tricks, our topic discussion is 'Beta Readers'. This month we'll talk about what a beta reader is and the importance of them! A very short and simple discussion.
Ⅰ) What is a beta reader? A beta reader is someone who reads your work before it's released or before a final draft has been produced (usually for no monetary payment), and gives advice from the perspective of an average reader. Their feedback is usually helpful towards improvement.
Ⅱ) Where do I find beta readers? Easy! Beta readers can be found anywhere so long as you're looking for them. A beta reader can be someone you know and trust or a total stranger. For instance, post a call for beta readers on your message board! Can't find any on Wattpad? Try Twitter, Goodreads Beta Book Groups, Instagram, and so on! There are plenty of websites-within writing spaces especially-that offer beta help.
Beta readers sometimes find things we can't see in our own writing. They're highly recommended!
