I don't know what to do.

My realization from earlier today absolutely messed with my head. My mind felt like a fog when I was getting ready to head to the bar to celebrate the end of the Monaco Grand Prix, Milo having to snap his fingers in front of my face when I zoned out too long. How am I supposed to react knowing that I fell in love with a guy who I've given every chance to pick me but he hasn't? Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

We were currently at the Monaco after party, club packed with guests and almost all of the drivers were here apart from Kevin, Checo, and Sebastian. The atmosphere was exhilarating as everyone celebrated the Monaco driver who was the star of the night. Chiara was surprisingly absent from his side after arriving together as Charles stood in between Pierre and Lando. The three were singing along to the music, holding bottles of alcohol.

I was stood by one of the secluded corners of the club, not really in the mood to drink and party. I've only had one glass and I haven't even finished it which Milo frowned at. He kept on glancing back at me to make sure I was okay but I would only wave him away every time.

From beside Lando, Luisa saw me and she began making her way towards my direction. "Why are you standing here?" She asked, leaning against the wall beside me as she fanned herself with her hand.

I shrugged and gave her a small smile. "Not really in a party mood." I said and was surprised when cheers erupted from the group as Pierre began pouring alcohol into Lando's mouth straight from the bottle. "I'm good here. You should go before Lando passes out." Luisa laughed before tapping my shoulder and going back to the group.

A few minutes later, I decided to head out since I wasn't doing much but sulk around. I downed my drink and approached Milo who was having a conversation with Max. Kelly was supposed to be here as well but she had to take care of her daughter so Max only dropped by to say hello. "I'm going home." I said, leaning up to kiss Milo's cheek. "Say goodbye to the guys for me, yeah?"

"Babe, are you sure?" He asked, grabbing my arm with a worried look on his face.

I nodded my head and offered him a smile to show I was okay when it fact, I wasn't. "I'll just grab a taxi going back to the hotel."

"I can drop you off." Max said, grabbing his keys from his pocket. "I didn't drink and I'm planning to head out as well."

Giving one last hug to Milo, I followed Max out of the club and towards the parking lot where his black Aston Martin was. I was silent during the first few minutes of the ride, watching the streets we passed by through the windows. Max didn't speak much as well and whenever he did, we'd talk about Kelly.

"How did you guys meet?" I asked, thinking that it'd be rude not to make conversation to the guy who offered to drive me home.

Max chuckled as he leaned his left arm by the window, using only one hand to steer the wheel. "In the paddock, actually. She was dating another driver." My eyebrows shot up in surprise causing Max to laugh at my expression. That must've been complicated. "Have you met Daniil?"

"Esteban's teammate?" I asked and Max nodded his head. I've only seen him a couple of times in the paddock but I've never really interacted with the Alpine drivers. From what I heard, Daniil took some time off from F1, leaving AlphaTauri in 2020 and returning under the Alpine team for 2023. "Does that mean–"
