as nancy drove, adella sat in the backseat with robin, looking out of the window. a sharp pain went through her head and she hissed, her ears ringing slightly as a small headache came on, but was soon enough it had dulled slightly in a minute, leaving her confused. robin looked to her before her eyebrows furrowed in worry.

"hey, your nose is bleeding." robin said and adella tapped under her nose, her fingertip appearing red.

"ew. nancy, do you have any tissues?" adella asked and nancy nodded silently, passing her one from her glove box. "thank you."

"i thought your powers went when el's did. since you have no one to mimic." robin mused.

"they did. i guess it's just a normal nosebleed." adella shrugged, wiping the rest of it from her top lip. "they happen to everyone."

"i suppose that's true." robin hummed as nancy pulled up into the library. the clock on the library chimed as they walked and robin started talking based on what nancy had explained earlier in the drive. "help me get this straight. eddie's uncle, wayne, thinks that victor creel escaped from pennhurst asylum and that he's the one running around commuting these murders?"

"pretty much." nancy smiled tightly.

"but victor committed the eyeball murders, like, way back in the '50s." robin said.

"well, '59." nancy corrected.

"yes, fifty-nine. still the '50s." adella shrugged, missing nancy rolling her eyes as she pulled the library door open for them to go in.

"so, that means these murders predate eleven and adella in the upside down by about 30 years?" robin added.

"yeah."

"which makes spooky victor creel like 70 years old." robin continued.

"yep." nancy sighed, ringing the bell.

"so, he's a grandpa murderer who can turn invisible and lift people into the air." robin hummed.

"it doesn't make sense. i know. that's why i said it was a shot in the dark." nancy bit back, ringing the bell impatiently.

"i know. i just thought that by 'shot in the dark,' you were being modest or hiding something super solid up your sleeve that you were gonna wow us with later. but this is like really, truly a shot in the dark. like, we are snipers with blindfolds on who've been spun around 50 times." robin rambled and adella frowned at nancy who seemed a bit bitchy towards robin as she rang the bell repeatedly yet again.

"what if it's a copy-cat murderer?" adella suggested.

"it's not." nancy shot down.

"but what if..." adella trailed off, nancy ringing the bell faster.
