"It was crazy," Kendall said to Hannah via FaceTime later that night. "The fangs looked so real."

"Do you think they were real?" Hannah asked.

Kendall shook her head adamantly. "No way."

"Even with the stuff on news?"

"Do you really believe that crap?"

Hannah's eyes narrowed. "With everything that happened with us, yeah, I do."

"Oh." She wasn't sure what to say after that. An awkward silence formed as they stared at each other through the screen.

Kendall cleared her throat and changed the subject. "It was just weird. Anyway, what's going on with you?"

Hannah brightened and she was relieved they were moving past that. "Dad's getting around to walking more on his own and my parents made enough money to where my mom's able to quit her second job. We're getting along better and we're going to have a girl's night on Saturday."

Kendall was happy to hear this. She knew Hannah had a rocky relationship with her parents and her dad's accident was terrible and he had so many injuries Hannah had to help take care of him after school. Seeing her dad like that and having to help take care of him had taken a huge toll on her friend.

"What about you?" asked Hannah.

"Same old stuff. There's seriously nothing to do here, and on top of that, everyone here sucks."

"I'm sorry, Ken."

She shrugged. "Guess there's nothing we can do about it now."

"I know. I hate to cut this short, but I have to go. My dad wants to watch this basketball game with me and it's coming on in a few minutes."

"That's fine. See you."

"Bye. We'll have to do this tomorrow."

"Totally."

They hung up. As Kendall plugged her phone into the charger, she thought about what Hannah said. Hannah believed supernaturals were real. She wasn't surprised by that; the girl had been obsessed with ghosts, ghouls, and goblins for as long as Kendall knew her and the haunting she went through solidified her beliefs, but Kendall still wasn't sure.

Yes, there was that incident today at the grocery store but there had to be more of a logical explanation that an actual vampire. It had to be a guy playing a sick prank on her. He was hopping on the supernatural train and trying to scare people. She thought about it for another moment then pushed it out of her mind. There was no use in worrying about it and she wasn't going to waste any more energy on the matter. She had more important stuff to do. She managed to carry out the rest of her day without thinking of the jerk.

At night, she managed to have a peaceful night's sleep for what felt like forever that night and woke up the following morning in a much better mood. Perhaps school won't be so bad today, she thought to herself as she got ready.

She quickly got dressed, did her hair, packed her backpack, and went downstairs to have breakfast. Her parents were already sitting at the table, serious expressions on their faces and she immediately paused, wondering what was going on. She knew those looks on their faces. She was either in trouble or they would tell her something she wasn't going to like.

She sighed and let her backpack drop from her shoulders to the floor. "What's going on?"

Mom pulled out a chair for her. "Sit."

She obeyed and waited for them to speak.

They shared a glance before Dad spoke. "Kendall, our jobs have not been going the way we planned and we've had a lot of issues and I think we can all agree that McGarrett hasn't been the best place for us, so we put in a transfer request and it was accepted."

Kendall's stomach dropped. "We're moving again?" She didn't if she was able to handle another move.

"Yes, but we're back to Raven City."
