BLACKBEARD WAS INTIMIDATING, he seemed to command the whole ship with just his presence. Add that to the fact that Jaclyn didn't seem right ever since they had first encountered the ship and Erica had already guessed there was some kind of history between them, hinting toward bad blood

Especially the way Jaclyn's grip tightened around her hand when they boarded the ship

Erica didn't know what she should do to calm Jaclyn down -- she was way out of her depth here too. However, she kept a steady hold of Jaclyn's hand and that seemed to calm her down enough, Erica exchanged glances with Jaclyn and could see the uneasy staring back at her making her own stomach tie itself in knots.

"We came as soon as we heard--"

The rest of Elizabeth's sentence was cut off abruptly when a brunette marched down the stairs leading off of the helm and over to Jaclyn, bitch-slapping her in the face before anyone could even react. Jaclyn's head snapped to the side and Erica found that Jaclyn was leaning more into her for support and she instantly wrapped an arm around her shoulders in support

A wave of primal anger curled and twisted in Erica's gut and before she even knew what was happening, the dagger that Jaclyn gave her materialised in her hand and she didn't even stop to think that this was the first time she had done that without assistance. She just went to grab the woman and haul them off of Jaclyn and then put the dagger to her throat.

"You do not get to lay a hand on her"

Her words were a low, menacing growl and her body shook with barely concealed rage and the woman looks back at her, a bored impassive expression on her face but she can see the little specks of how impressed this woman is in her eyes at it made Erica nearly grin with satisfaction. It shouldn't her feel this way right? Holding a dagger at someone's throat, shouldn't make her feel almost elated. It should be the opposite

"It's exciting, isn't it? Holding the power of life and death in your hands, makes you feel like a God doesn't it...All that power?"  She remembered Jaclyn whispering that phrase in her head and the kisses that followed it, God her kisses were like some kind of drug. Erica shook her head to rid herself of the thought and returned to the task at hand pushing the dagger into her neck more

Still, the woman looked bored as if she didn't care whether she lived or died

"Rickie, let's put the dagger down" Jaclyn's soothing words reach her ears and she blinks, as the world comes back to her. Erica didn't say anything as she takes the dagger into her hand and spun around, holding the dagger downwards as she collects herself in Jaclyn's arms, her arms looped over her girlfriend's neck

She didn't fail to notice how Jaclyn held her just that little bit tighter and she stayed wrapped up in her embrace and soaking in the warmth that Jaclyn offered. Finally, after what felt like a long time had passed and yet no time at all, Erica felt a feather-light kiss touch her neck and a hollow voice whisper in her ear "You good?"
