Chapter Nine: The Chosen One
Patience.
Patience is the key... is what they say.
I'm known for my patience too.
Unless I have to work with my classmates for a group project and they are taking way too long with their part in the project then I become very impatient.
I need the time, I need the project finished as soon as possible so I can get my grade, the grade that I deserve.
That's all. And of course, I'm patient with my twin whenever she's upset and even when Noel and Karine are arguing with each other again.
"You piece of shit!"
"Oh, now I'm the piece of shit?"
"Yeah! Not just a fucking idiot!"
It's exhausting at this point.
But besides that, I've never been really impatient before. Well, not this impatient. I've never been this impatient before until I fell for someone, for a boy.
"Hey!" gulat kong sabi nang biglanghinablot ni Silas yung phone ko.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk. Gwendolyn Cerine D. Dixon is busy with her phone, that is weird, right?" Silas said and winks at Julian.
"Very weird." Julian laughs after.
"Give it back, Silas." malambot kong sabi sa kanya.
"Sure... if you tell us who you're texting."
"I'm not texting anyone."
"So what? You're reading Wattpad now? What are you, Karine?" tawa ulet ni Silas at natawa rin ako sa kanya.
Sorry, Karine. Sorry.
"I... it's nothing, I swear. I'm just waiting for something, really. Please, Silas?" I beg, standing up to ask for my phone back from him.
Huminga siya ng malalim at tumango lang si Julian sa kanya bago binalik ni Silas yung phone ko.
"Thanks." salamat ko at umupo ulet.
"Seriously, Cerine. You're not reading a book, you're not on your laptop checking your homeworks, what is it?"
"Yeah, you seem busy with something... weird."
Silas Nakamoto and Julian Quinten Diamante are my classmates in my section, nasa ibang section si Karine at natatandaan ko pa yung sinabi niya sa'kin na masaya siya na 'di niya kaklase ang matalik na magkaibigan na may problema sa pagiging 'busy' ko sa phone.
She just said good luck as if I'm not going to be okay by being classmates with these boys.
Silas is close to our family.
Apparently our parents are somewhat friends and Silas tried to flirt with me and Karine, and Karine slapped him.
I know. My sister cannot be stopped.
Evan laughed and so Silas is just 'acquaintances' with Karine and Evan is closer to her.
I didn't care about Silas that much and we just became friends.
Julian and I met through a birthday party, I think it was his sister's.
We liked and enjoyed each other's presence and became friends.
