Chapter - 41

Third Person's POV

Aniket and Kritika were sitting on the chair like a statue hearing doctor's words…..

DOCTOR : listen… Mr. and Mrs. Kapoor… I know this is very shocking news for both of
you….

ANIKET : why doctor? How? How could this happen?? She… she is so little ( tears were falling from his eyes)

DOCTOR : Mr. Kapoor….there is no answer of it….we will start the treatment as soon as
possible… we can’t delay….. and your all family members do a test… if she is
lucky then maybe she can get a match among any of you…

KRITIKA : she will be fine… right doctor?

DOCTOR : we will do our best, Mrs. Kapoor… the rest depends on God…

Aniket and Kritika both left the doctor’s cabin and entered the ward where Anika was…there some of the family members were also present… they came after getting a call
from Aniket…

The phone call Aniket had gotten in his office… was from a teacher of Anika's
kindergarten … who had informed him that Anika fainted and they were taking her
to hospital…

Here coming to the hospital he came to know that Anika is suffering from leukemia (blood cancer) and her condition is
critical… she needs a bone marrow transplant immediately….. The doctor will
start their treatment and they have to find a donor as soon as possible…

[ I am not a medical student… I also
don’t have many knowledge about it… I have researched  this disease online… so if there is or will be anything wrong… please ignore it ]

When Aniket and Kritika entered the ward… they saw Anika was sleeping on the hospital bed… an IV drip was attached
with her little hand….. Mrs. Kapoor and Payel were sitting beside her bed…
and  Kabir and Animesh were sitting on
the sofa in the room….. Seeing them entering the room Mrs. Kapoor got up from
the stool and went near Aniket…

Mrs. KAPOOR : Aniket, what happened? What did the doctor say? Why did she suddenly faint today?

Aniket didn’t answer his mother’s question… he went near the bed and joined Anika on
the bed and carefully took her in his arms….Anika stirred a little in her
sleep….

Seeing Aniket didn’t reply anything Kabir went near his sister and asked her..

KABIR : what happened , princess.? What the doctor has said?

Kritika started crying hugging his brother tightly…

ANIMESH : what happened? why are you crying? Why are you not saying anything? You guys are making us worried..

KRITIKA : Niki… Niki has….blood cancer...

No one has spoken anything… everyone was shocked hearing the news….. when the room was pin dropped silent… they heard Aniket’s whisper to Anika.

ANIKET : don’t worry sweetheart… papa will make everything alright… nothing will
happened to you… Papa will not let anything happened to you… (kissed on the top of
Anika’s head)

Everyone was looking at Anika and Aniket with teary eyes and prayed to god in their mind to make everything alright…
