Hello everyone! Today I'm going to write some Solinh. I don't know how to feel about this ship, because it contradicts Sophiana and Marellinh, two of my favorite ships out there. But since Sophie and Linh are both softies, this ship would provide for some really cute fluff. I imagine these two in a fairy aesthetic AU, so that's what I made.

Note: I just realized that Sophie and Linh have a silver and gold thing going on with their eyes, so I decided to mention that in my oneshot.

Enjoy! :D

✩Sophie's POV✩

My heart raced inside my chest as I lied there, sprawled out on my hammock at midnight, when everyone else was asleep. I didn't know why my heart was beating so fast. But my eyelids felt like they were glued open, like it was impossible to close them. After a few agonizing minutes of lying there, desperately trying to fall asleep, I heaved myself out of the tree hammock and stretched my golden wings, illuminated by the pale shine of moonlight filtering through the leaves of the trees.

I yawned quietly, and fluttered my wings into the cool night breeze pulling at my silky blonde hair. The chilling wind brushed against my bare arms, making me shiver. I put on my golden nightgown, and flew out of the treehouse where my family slept.

The tree was quiet. Quiet enough to make me wait in anticipation for someone to make a noise. My body tensed and waited.

Nothing.

But as I squinted ahead, into the night sky, I saw an unusually bright fleck of light amongst the stars. It was too big and bright to be another one of them. It was another fairy.

I inhaled a gulp of the cool air surrounding me, and raced up the sky with batting wings; my chestnut brown eyes trained determinedly on the speck of light. As I got closer, the shape took form. I was right, it was another fairy. And as I got even closer, I found it hard to breathe.

The fairy had shimmering silver wings, sparkling like someone scraped a pair of wings out from the moon itself and attached them to her curved back. Her light blue eyes sparkled with silver too, little stars in the eyes that were looking up at the moon, with wonder and amazement like it was the most beautiful thing in the world. And for some reason, my heart ached with pain at that thought. Why? I didn't know.

I couldn't bring myself to do anything but stare at her. The way the moonlight reflected off of her pale bony arms, the way her raven black hair that faded into a magnificent silver color cascaded down her back like a waterfall. She turned to me, and I blushed from head to toe with embarrassment. She only smiled at me.

"Hello," she said softly, her wings slowly fluttering towards me.

"Hi," I managed to choke out. "You, um..." The girl tilted her head to the side.

"You're a fairy." I mentally slapped myself. Yes, she is a fairy, Sophie. Duh.

The girl laughed, a sound that I was tempted to embed into my mind, to listen to for later for the next time I couldn't sleep and had to have a sound that made me want to curl up in bed with a sleepy smile plastered on my lips.

"What's your name?" she asked me, her eyes shining with curiosity.

"Sophie," I answered, barely saying that one word without tripping over my own voice. "Yours?"

"Linh," she answered with a shy smile. Linh. I liked the way her name slid off my tongue, so easily and elegantly.

"What are you doing here?" she asked me.

"Oh, I couldn't sleep, actually," I said nervously, fidgeting with my finger behind my back. She giggled and my heart fluttered with silver butterflies carved from the moon, just like her wings.

"Me too. I come here a lot," Linh whispered while looking up at the moon. She smiled again, and looked me in the eyes. "You're Fitz Vacker's girlfriend, right?"

My heart raced even more. "Um, no. We broke up." Memories of Fitz's words, his goodbyes before he flew away, leaving me with tears brimming in my eyes, threatening to spill out like a tidal wave. I shook my head at myself, and forced a smile.

Linh shot me a look of sympathy. "That's too bad. Well, I hope you're doing well now."

I failed to suppress my stupid grin. "Uh, yeah. Yeah, I'm doing fine." Linh gave me a small smile.

"Well, I should get back to bed. My brother is probably looking for me." Linh fluttered close to me, and pressed her soft pink lips against my cheek. I burned bright red as she winked, and flew away until she was a speck of silver against the curtain of stars above.

I touched my cheek with my hand, savoring the touch of her lips to make sure I would never forget the sensation. My heart was jumping in my chest energetically, and I knew I would not get any sleep tonight. And I knew it was worth it.
