CH. 7 : The liar and the price he paid (2/3)

Sagara has a plan.

He already knew what he had to say so Shinso would, undeniably, become another valuable ally in his mission without blowing his cover.

With his fake background as an academically genius student, Hiroto will explain that he came to UA to look into the 'weird social phenomenon' accuring within high schools, especially in hero courses. That 'phenomenon' is the significant changes in behavior of several hero-focused students, to the point of them being very out of character and down right malicious to others without any plausible cause. He wanted to figure out what caused it then write them into a scientific essay, and he'd tell Shinso that his quirk would be useful in the long run to gather more information effectively.

This way, he can make Shinso investigate with him while also being another eyes in case more victims appeared. And if he played his cards right, the indigo haired male won't even have any reason to refuse.

Of course, Sagara understood very well that he's playing with fire. Considering he's going to involve a mere civilian, with said civilian none the wiser, into a possibly the most dangerous case he has ever taken.

Furthermore, Shinso Hitoshi is not like Yamada Hizashi, an actual certified Pro Hero and collaborator. He's not even a Hero Course student, who at least are trained professionally to handle dangerous situations and defend themselves. The teen is just that, a general, common student.

He should be disgusted and shameful at himself, yet he didn't.

A little white lie won't hurt anyone.

Students littered the street on his way to school, many of them wearing the same grey and dark green uniform. When they took notice of him, however, they immediately started to gossip with each other while staring pointedly at his direction. He could hear some snippets of their whispers, about how he was friends with the new 'villain' student and so on.

Shinso sighed, deciding there's no merrit in getting worked up because people will always talk, and there's nothing he can't do about it.

The staring and avoidances fortunately only lasted until he stepped into the huge building of UA. Getting to his class was even easier and less dramatic, since people in first year actually mind their business this time after the whole debacle that happened yesterday. They only gave him a nod or understanding glances, oddly with respect. He doesn't know what to do with that either.

"Meet me on the rooftop at lunch."

Shinso managed to not jump at the sudden hand grabbing his shoulder once he arrived at Class 1-C. Looking to his left, he noticed that Hiroto had leaned down and whispered to his ear. The younger teen blinked, wasn't sure what to make of this situation, and the brown eyed male just smiled knowingly.

Oh.

He numbly nodded, "...right."

Hiroto slapped his back playfully, settling down at the seat beside his. Shinso watched
the blue haired male took out the math homework on Limit that was due for this morning. He quirked an eyebrow, "You haven't finished it yet?"

"Nope. I figured I could do it before homeroom. The English homework about analytical exposition that Mic-sensei gave us was harder so I finished it first last night."

Oh no. "There's another homework?"

Hiroto looked up from his workout sheet, and wow, look at that. There's only two out of fifteen questions left, and he doesn't even use any scratch sheet for the equations. 'I know he got accepted purely because of his brain, but damn, life is so unfair...'
