"Happy birthday," Max mumbled in his sleepy morning voice as he wrapped his arm around Daniella and got closer to her, his eyes barely opened.

Max placed a kiss on Daniella's forehead just as she slowly started to wake up and open her eyes. A soft small smile appeared on her face once she realized was in Max's arms.

"I am getting old," Daniella mumbled as she shifted and placed her head on Max's chest and arm around him.

Max can't help but let out a laugh and now he is fully awake.

"You are only twenty-three," Max pointed out.

"Feels like thirty-two," Daniella replied.

"I didn't realize that I am dating a grandma," Max joked, earning a playful hit from Daniella.

"Don't call me that," she looked at him, both making eye contact, their smile mirroring. "Or I will give you nothing but a walking cane on your birthday."

"But I don't feel like I am getting old," Max chuckled.

"But you look that way grandpa," Daniella teased him.

"I am not old," Max sounded a bit defensive but something else started playing in his mind. "But..."

"But?"

"But I like to think that when we are...you and I are in our thirties we will be..."

The moment was interrupted by Daniella's phone ringing, making Max let out a defeated breath.

"Sorry..." Daniella apologizes as she went to grab her phone.

"It's either Lewis or Toto," Max assumed. "They always call when something good is going between us and ruins it."

"It's Lewis," Daniella showed Max the caller id, giving him a guilty look.

"Should have bet on it.."

Daniella smiled and gestured to him to keep quiet as she answered the call. Max obliged but once again moved closer to Daniella and started placing soft kisses on her cheek and neck, trying to distract her.

"No, don't come over now," Daniella panicked on the phone.

"I... ummm.. I am at Sophie's house right now..."

"Yes, I spent the night here... a little pre-birthday celebration."

"No, it's not what you think."

Max can't help but chuckle as he could clearly hear Lewis interrogating Daniella on the phone. He even started kissing her lips, making it hard for her to talk.

Daniella reluctantly pushed Max away a little, not wanting Lewis to suspect anything.

"Just... just give me an hour to get home and then you can come over," She said to Lewis before the call ended.

Daniella immediately tossed the phone aside and looked at Max, giving a slight glare. She opened her mouth to scold her for distracting her and risking Lewis finding out about them, but before she could utter a word Max kissed her again.

"From now on this is what will happen when anyone interrupts us," Max declared right before deepening the kiss.

Daniella couldn't help but melt in his arm as Max moved on top of her.

Daniella quickly got dressed after the morning shenanigans with Max and then a shower. She was fixing her look in the mirror when Max came and stood behind her, a smile on his face.

"I wish I could spend the day here but Lewis is..."

Daniella was not able to finish the sentence as Max surprised her by putting a simple yet beautiful necklace around her, the tiny round pendent complimenting Daniella very well.
