I'm sitting on my bed, tears in my eyes, holding a bloody bracelet, with a marshmallow on my nose.

Today's going great.

I get up and quickly shuffle across the hall into Steven's room.

"Knock much?" He says upset before seeing my face. "Holy shit, are you okay?"

I walk over and sit by him on the bed.

"What happened?" He asks.

"Jere broke my nose.." I say quietly.

"He what?!" His guard immediately goes up.

"And-" I suck in a breath. My voice is cracking in and out through my silent tears.

"What happened?" He asks, calmer.

I just lamely hold the bracelet up in my hand and lay my head on his shoulder.

"Oh.." He trails, even as mean as Steven can be, he knows what this bracelet meant to me.

I sniffle and continue crying on his shoulder.

He wraps his arms around me and sets his chin on my head. He doesn't say a word.

I'm probably sobbing at this point, but I can't say for sure since Steven's shirt is muffling any sound I make.

He hugs me a little tighter and I let out a pained squeal.

"It's gonna be okay, let it all out." He says, petting the back of my head.

I shove him away, "No! Shit, you shoved my nose into your shoulder." I laugh with tears in my eyes.

He laughs with me, "Oops."

"Okay, but for real," I say, calming down from laughter. "Please don't say a word to him."

"Jeremiah?" He asks with his eyebrows raised in surprise.

"Yeah, I just- promise?" I ask.

"Uh-" He pauses. "Yeah, you know what? Promise. You're my sister." He nods.

I give him a small smile.

"Thank you." I whisper and put a lip in between my teeth.

He nods.

I stand up and go to leave the room but I'm stopped.

"Ah, ah, ah." Steven sounds. "Give me the bracelet." He wiggles his hand out.

I furrow my brows, "What? No."

"Y/n." He says sternly.

"Steven." I mock.

"Trust me." He adds.

I angry pout and walk over to him, setting it in his hand harshly.

"If you even-" I start.

"I won't." He interrupts.

I squint and walk out of his room slowly.
