we had all stopped at McDonalds and we began filing into the house. i pried off my shoes and said hello to mary-lou, their dad was out somewhere. i made my way to chris's room to put all of my stuff down and get in my pajamas so i was more comfortable. the boys were still downstairs, so i went into the bathroom and locked the door to change, unlocking it once i was done. i made the short trip from the bathroom to chris's room to grab my toothbrush when nick came running in.

"damn bitch, slow down!" i gathered everything and waited for him to say what he was doing before making my way to brush my teeth.

"look. we have to talk about what happened earlier."

shit. i didn't want him to be mad, but i refused to lie to one of my best friends.

"about chris, right?" i walked to the bathroom and he followed.

"yeah. he likes you, theres no way he doesnt! i mean seriously. "let me send a pic of myself"' he immitated him, making me laugh. i was relieved he wasn't upset. by the time he was done explaining his elaborate thoughts to me about how madly in love chris is, i was done brushing my teeth.

"nick, christopher does not like me. it doesn't seem like it to me, at least."

"but you like him." i sighed and faced nick properly.

"yes. i like him. and that was fucking disgusting to say."

"i knew you did! jesus fuck!" he followed me back into chris's room.

"well, i think i like him."

"okay what does that mean?" he propped himself up to listen throughly.

"i think i do. its either that or im just letting the tiktok ships get to my head. i saw an edit of me and chris looking at eachother and, i felt something, but i dont know if it was real."

"do you feel like that with matt edits? and matt ships?" he genuinely cared. he wasn't just rooting for his brother, he was rooting for us.

"no." i realized. "no, i don't. still, i don't want to say im 100 percent on something when i don't know if i am."

"that's fine, y/n, im not saying you have to. but for the love of god, do not push away this poor puppy." he pouted his lips and turned his phone to show me yet another edit of me and chris. we shared a laugh and then the two boys made their way into the room. i kicked my stuff onto the floor of chris's room while us four laid ourselves on his bed, but the horizontal way so that we could all fit. nick gave me a glance, realizing that he took the spot between me and chris, so he claimed to forget something. i took the opportunity to "readjust" and end up slightly closer to chris. i wanted to be nearer to him. okay, so maybe i did like him. maybe. when nick came back, he had snacks in his hands.

"move over bitch!" he chucked candy at matt to get him to move over. the order was chris, me, nick, matt.

"someone get a blanket."

"not me, i just got snacks."

"i just got the snacks thrown at me."

"im a woman, if you make me do the work, then you're sexist." i joked. chris reluctently got up to get a blanket. he shouted to his mom and she helped him pick a few out.

"what are we gonna watch?" matt flipped through netflix with the remote. chris slammed back down onto the bed, passing three different blankets out.

"i call my own blanket, im not sharing with you disgusting rats."

"damn bitch, what did i do?" i glared at him.

"not you, you're fine." nick grabbed the green one, which was my favorite. it was small, but insanely comfortable.
