She was pushed aside by someone running up the stairs. (Y/N) almost fell off the stairs if it wasn't for her immediately having a tight grip on the railings.
Her heart was still beating loudly. She can still see the creepy, wide grin of a face in the shadows. Not particularly looking at her, but to the steel door that was left open.
The person - no, the supposed cat mom that led them there ran up and down the stairs before (Y/N) could understand what she was doing. In her arms are two dogs and a cat.
"(Y/N), don't let her go!" Daniel appeared from to her field of vision about half a minute later, looking frazzled and tense. "That's her! The one who's been stealing all the animals in the area!"
"What?!"
She turns around and all but jumps down the remaining steps to the bottom. She can feel the furious pounding in her ribs, her body feeling hotter as adrenaline chose that moment to make an appearance. (Y/N) rushes down the stairs to follow the 'cat mom'.
Her head swivelled from different directions as she tries to figure out the direction of where the lady ran off to. The hallways are dark and empty. No indication of any other resident present.
She hears loud footsteps from behind her. The two boys have reappeared. Johan looks deathly calm despite the situation. But she knew he was probably just hiding how furious he is.
"The woman...from...202..." Daniel was wiping his brow, trying to catch his breath. "Where did she go?"
"I won't be here if I knew," she snaps at him.
"Let's split up to find them. I'll go back to the park."
Johan chose to agree to the plan that the dark haired male came up with in the middle of the situation. But he still looks as if he can't properly focus on the situation at hand, so (Y/N) didn't point out why that was the plan.
They rushed out of the buildimg before she can say anything more.
(Y/N) sighs. Why were they trying to find the lady out there? Didn't they just say that woman lives in 202? Isn't that the most obvious place that they should check out?
While she thinks to herself, an old man descends from the stairs with a grim look on his face.
She tilts her head. "Are you the Bag General?"
He scoffs. "I was saving the animals from that nasty woman. Hoarding the strays and throwing them away once they get sick...Tch."
She puts together the pieces of they've given her. It seems that they've been led here, to someone that apparently was saving the animals. So the woman must've been using them to get to the safe ones she'd thrown away.
"Can you tell me where 202 is?"
With that question, she followed the old man through the building to find the room she asked for.
She knew they were approaching the location as soon as she notices the difference between the stench from where she was, to where she is right now. It was almost double the foul odor that she had to cover her nose.
Just how many animals did she hoard?!
This is why some humans don't deserve pets.
She rolled up her sleeve and started banging on the door. "Hey! Come out!"
"Get lost!"
The answer came immediately. As if the woman has been expecting her to be there. She can also hear someone scratching and whimpering behind the door. As she continues banging the wood with n9 progress, the whimpers became loud barks.
