We've been walking through the woods for a while, well they have. I've been on Dustin's back the entire time
"Dust, I'm sure I can walk some now-" I started
"No, you'll slow us down we need to get there quick. Plus you're in pajama shorts, branches might cut up your legs" He said as leaves and sticks crunched under his feet
For a while I had forgotten we we're in danger, that hawkins was in danger. The crunch of leaves and sticks flooded my ears. The warmth from Dustin, the smell of chocolate on his jacket, the way I can hear each breath he takes as I lay my head on his shoulder. The vibration as he talks with Lucas. The way my arms wrap around his neck and his hands hold onto my legs. All of it distracted me
"You're sure that was Dart?" Lucas looked at Dustin
"Yes. He had the same yellow pattern on his butt" Dustin explained
"He was tiny two days ago." Max added in disbelief
"He's molted three times already" I said looking at her
"Malted?" Steve butchered the word
"Molted" Dustin corrected
"Shed his skin to make room for growth like hornworms." I said placing my head back on Dustin's shoulder
"When's he gonna molt again?" Max asked
"Its gotta be soon." Dustin talked looking straight forward "When he does, he'll be fully grown, or close to it."
"So will his friends." I spoke softly
"Yeah, and he's gonna eat a lot more that just cats." Steve said
"Wait, a cat?" Lucas stopped us "Dart ate a cat?"
"No, what? No." Dustin lied
"What are you talking about? He ate Mews." Steve said
"Mews? Who's Mews?" Max looked at him
"Dustin's cat." Steve looked confused
"I knew it! You two kept him!" Lucas shouted at us
"No. No..." Dustin started
"Dust, No point in lying anymore." I sighed
"He wanted to come home. He missed us." Dustin explained
"Bullshit!" Lucas shouted
"We didn't know he was a Demogorgon, ok?" I lifted my head from Dustin's shoulder to look at Lucas
"Oh so now you admit it?" Lucas crosses his arms
"Guys, who cares? We have to go." Max interrupted
"I care! You two put the party in jeopardy! You broke the rule if law!" Lucas shouted
"So did you!" I shouted back
"What?" He asked
"You told a stranger the truth!" Dustin pointed his flashlight in Max's face
Max scoffed "A stranger?"
"You wanted to tell her too!" Lucas argued
"But I didn't, Lucas, ok? I didn't tell her!" Dustin shouted
"We all broke the rule of law, ok? So we're even. We're even." I tried to stop the argument
"No! We're not even! Don't even try that Y/N!" Lucas shouted
"Watch your tone Lucas. You know what I'm capable of." I said pure venom in my voice
"Your stupid pet could've ate us for dinner!" Lucas kept shouting
