Life is a battle that sometimes

is a hard pill to swallow

everyone may say you have to have it all figured out by the time you are 21

at least that was my experience on my 21st birthday

where everyone is rushing you to get the chapter

of your book finished

but it may not be time

for you

but everyone else

is giving you the deadline

and that shouldn't be

you should be able to live

by your own philosophy

and do what you got to do

but the time you want to do it

don't let anyone push your buttons

because that may as well be your last straw.

may be the smart girl with the brains

but sometimes even a smart girl

meets her breaking point

and that point was today

because I was tired of everyone

telling me to do it their way

sometimes I just want to say NOT TODAY.

and what is going to make me happy?

sometimes maybe you want the milkshake

We make up

and use the blush

but sometimes

I want to cover up all of the makeup

and that is to hide the scars

beyond the surface

instead of breaking down the foundation

and being stuck in a life

between love and hate.
