Lisa and Jennie weren’t allocated to adjacent seats.

When they were choosing their seats, one asked for a window seat, while the other asked to sit in the middle lane.

Neither spoke a word to the other throughout the two-hour flight, after which they arrived at the capital’s international airport.

This was China’s capital, a prosperous large city.

Regardless of the area, the city occupied, or geographical conditions, or grand history, it wasn’t something Dayi City could compare with.

The capital was also a center for displaying power and wealth.

It was said beforehand that no one would come and pick them up from the airport. Jennie and Lisa needed to take a cab by themselves to the military university.

Transportation was convenient these days. Once they got into a cab and gave the driver the address, the driver took them to their destination.

On the way, the two of them held their phones in their hands and did their own thing.

Lisa sent her older brother a message: { Brother, what are you doing now? }

Seokjin replied very quickly. { At work! I’m really busy. My boss is a middle-aged witch. Seriously. Lisa, it’s not the weekend yet, how come you’re able to send text messages? }

Seokjin took after his father’s attentive trait and very quickly noticed that something was amiss with Lisa.

Lisa was afraid of letting the cat out of the bag, hence she quickly replied. { No, I came out of the military zone with my superior today to attend to some matters, so I have access to my phone for a bit. I’ll go and get busy now. }

Seokjin replied, { Alright, go ahead. I’ll continue with my work. }

Lisa heaved a sigh of relief upon seeing his reply.

The military university was located in the capital’s center, which was also where several famous universities in the capital are located.

It took several hours to travel from the airport to there, but the capital had a distinct feature—and that was its traffic jams.

There were traffic jams all the way.

Thankfully, she and Jennie were the patient sort.

The most important thing was, it wasn’t specified what time they should report by. Else, they would be in trouble.

They were caught in a traffic jam for two and a half hours. By then, Lisa was famished.

Since she and Jennie didn’t eat anything after getting off the plane, and since the car journey was taking so long, they were already hungry.

Towards the end, Lisa’s mind was filled with delicacies when they got out of the car. She swallowed her saliva and said to Jennie, “Shall we go and eat first?”

Jennie was also hungry, but she had a cold temperament. With an indifferent expression, she shook her head and said softly, “Let’s go and report first. Perhaps we’re already late. We can always eat after we report.”

This was the longest sentence she had ever said to Lisa.

Lisa felt that her words made sense, so she could only hold in her hunger and force herself not to think about those delicacies. With much difficulty, she nodded. “Okay!”

The military university was closed off to the public, and other than the weekends the students weren’t allowed to come out. There were even police officers standing guard at the entrance.
