What if Lorraine hadn't had her gifts and the both of them wasn't involved in some cases.. just normal folks, would their lives be better?

Sitting by the porch, Lorraine looks at the distance just staring on an empty view.. slightly startled, she looks by her shoulder seeing her daughter standing

Judy: Mom? It's almost dark and time for dinner, don't you wanna come in?
Lorraine: you go ahead sweetie.. I'm still waiting for you Father to come home

A disappointed look suddenly appeared on her daughter's face, kneeling down next to her mom.. she held her hand and took a deep breath

Judy: mom he's not coming home
Lorraine: don't say that sweetie, he'll be here.. maybe he's just caught up in traffic.. he'll come home

With tears streaming down Judy's cheeks.. she held stronger her mother's hand

Judy: Mom, let's just go inside please?
Lorraine: I'm still waiting for him sweetie please just go inside
Judy: Mom please stop this, he's not coming back
Lorraine: no! You don't know that! How could you say such things?! Your father is and will come home!!

Getting up from the ground.. she felt her heart aches seeing her mother's emotion and tone

Judy: he's gone ok? He's not and never coming back! Mom it's been almost a year.. you've been doing this routine every end of the day.. stop torturing yourself!
Lorraine: shut up! What's gotten into you?! When did you learn to talk back like that? Imma let your father talk to you about this behavior
Judy: please stop this!! I love you ok? And I love him.. he wouldn't want you to be like this.. Mommy let's go inside
Lorraine: leave me alone.. I don't know you anymore

Stomping inside, she rush to her room locking herself in and cry by the floor.. it was hard losing his father already, now her own mother.. slowly fading herself away from reality..

*Flashback*
It was almost Christmas time, and instead of getting ready for said celebration, the Warrens spend their days in the hospital.. just coop up in the room.. Ed has been getting this chest pains lately and Lorraine decided not to ignore the risk of losing him unexpectedly so they spend their days in the hospital to look after Ed.

Ed: Hun, I'm fine.. it was just a little ache, this wasn't necessary
Lorraine: oh don't distract me Ed..this is necessary, what if this little ache grows huh? It would take us a while to drive here. I can't risk it

Chuckling, Ed reached for her hand and raise it to his lips kissing it tenderly

Ed: hey, look at me.. you won't lose me ok? It's not gonna happen.. as long as this heart beats your name.. I won't leave you no matter what.. and God can count on it

Blushing a bit.. Lorraine swatted his chest and embrace him for a hug

Lorraine: don't go cheesy on me Mr. Warren you're still not off the hook..
Ed: I tried hahaha

Both laugh, as Judy entered the room with bags

Judy: I got Nana to babysit the house since we're gonna be here for a little while
Ed: sorry if we're not spending Christmas on the house this time pumpkin.. I tried, but Mommy here won't budge
Judy: it's fine Dad.. she's a tough stone to move HAHAHA
Ed: if you ever need some tips to convince her, just come see me ok?

Winking at her daughter, Lorraine elbowed him, as the three of them laugh out loud..
