Chapter 47

Evelyn's Pov

While resting in my bed, looking at the wall emotionless. The door opened by a servant who looked around the room for me, as soon as she saw me. She bowed down before speaking "Your Majesty, The Prince wants you to have dinner" She said, I replied while still looking emotionless "Tell him I don't want to go and eat with him"

The servant bit her lip and replied "Well, The Prince wants you to have dinner alone since he already know that you dont want to eat with him in your sight" She said, I looked at her "Would he do that?" I asked, She nodded and opened the door for me "Please, come with me to the dining hall so you won't get lost" She replied.

Nodding my head, standing up as I followed her out of the room. While walking through the halls and still looking down, I thought of escaping but when I lift my head up and looked at my right. Many guards every side of the right, I gulped and looked to the other side of the left and also guards guarding every side.

There is no way of escaping here, I guess Nikolai already knew that I thought of escaping so he let these guards guard every side of the castle! Following the servant as she lead me inside the dining hall "Eat well, after you eat. You can go back to your room" She said with a smile, Nodding my head "Thank you" I replied while smiling slightly, she bowed down before leaving me.

I looked around the dining room and it's so different than the dining hall of Ellesmere, sitting down on the chair and there's already food on the table so I started eating. I feel uncomfortable as the guards are guiding my every move secretly.

But I tried to not mind it and satisfy my stomach, taking a roll of bread before eating it. Drinking grapes quickly then putting the glass down as I finished eating, I'm satisfied now. Wiping my lip gently before standing up and walked upstairs back to the room.

Looking left and right again to see every guards eyes are focusing on me everytime I passed them, I guess I'll just wait for Thomas to rescue me. Walking inside my room before sitting back down, thinking. Thomas, I missed you. I'm not worried of what Nikolai will do to me but I'm worried what he'll do to you this coming war, please be safe. I thought while caressing my hand.

While thinking, maybe I thought of looking around this Castle. I nodded to myself then standing up as I walked one of the guards "Can you tell the Prince that I'll just walk around the Castle and I promise I'll not escape, if you guards stay where you are and guide me" I said while looking at the two of them, The guard nodded before walking to the other side.

I looked to the other side and walked around, caressing the painting of Nikolai. The color oil is so amazing, it looks so much real, turning around and continued walking the halls. For a minute, I thought of Nikolai. Maybe give him a visit? No, he wont control his craziness as soon as he saw you! Come on, Thomas controlled himself so I know Nikolai can too.

I slap my head, closing my eyes tightly "Fine" I said to myself, looking around and walked to find Nikolai's chamber. After minutes of finding to where it is, I got familiar by the door. I once walked these halls before, opening the door without knocking. I found Nikolai laying on the bed, I thought he was just resting but as soon as I got closer. Nikolai was sweating, I wide my eyes in surprise.

Walking closer to him quickly before touching his forehead, it's so hot! I gasped and took a cold water and a small cloth then quickly wiped his forehead with it gently "Nikolai, are you okay?" I asked worriedly, Nikolai groaned and touched my hand that is holding the cloth "are you worried?" He asked while managing to form his lips to smirk, I hit his arm gently "Of course i am! Now, shut your mouth while I treat you" I said while continuing to rub the cold cloth on his hot forehead.

Nikolai groaned and held my hand tightly, butterflies in my stomach but I ignored it and continued to rub the cold cloth on his hot forehead "Look at you now, you need to take care of yourself" I said while avoiding his gaze, focusing my eyes on his forehead.
