F O R T Y - O N E
the grim reaper's field day.

Horris and Wesley Harrington sorely underestimated the range of human hearing.

They held meetings somewhere that was way too close to Otto, and thus she heard everything. She heard extra details of the goldhunt - ones she didn't think the group knew of. She heard about John B, it was information that would flip his life upside-down.

It would change everything.

But that wasn't all she heard, she heard Horris telling his son that no one could be killed in the initial interaction, they needed both information and Horris wanted the full sick satisfaction of the kill. No matter what information the group gave up, the outcome would be the same.

Their plan was as follows: get the group to the entry foyer, tell them the full story of what happened to both John B's mother and the gold hunt, bring Otto out as leverage, extract Sarah from the group, take the girls to the bedroom outlooking the back garden and then systematically killing them. He wanted to make sure Sarah and Otto watched.

To ensure there wasn't anyone accidentally killed during the initial interaction Horris told Wes to take the bullets out of the gun he was going to hold to Otto's forehead, assuring him the gun would be enough of a deterrent.

Otto heard it all.

Hours passed, the sun set and she sat looking emotionless while she flipped through plan after plan to see what would work.

She was broken from her daze when Wes squated next to her and turned open the key to her handcuffs. She stood up, not acting upon her plan, he grabbed a handful of the back of her shirt and leaned down to put his face near her ear.

"Don't make me use the gun, princess."

Wes couldn't see the smirk that took over her lips, she didn't say anything and he began pushing her through the house and into the entry room.

There stood the Pogue's, all looking terrified, she looked straight passed them all, acting almost as if she hadn't ever met them, like they were strangers. Otto could physically feel JJ's eyes on her, begging for her to look at him. But she didn't give in, she couldn't have emotion cloud her judgement.

While the gun pressed to her head didn't have anything inside it she knew of the guns that littered the Harrington household that most definitely were, Wes boasted about it all the time. She knew there was one stashed somewhere in that very room, she just couldn't remember where.

She stood there for a few seconds.

Sarah was called forward and that's when Otto began her plan, she didn't want Sarah to reach Horris so he could take her so, as she took tentative steps forward Otto, whose hands stuck to the back pocket of her trousers pulled out something she was given months ago.

The pocket knife.

There was a button on the side that flipped the blade out as she pressed that she twisted around and plunged it in the first place she saw, that happened to be Wesley's shoulder.

He dropped the gun in shock, looking down at the wound as she pulled the knife out of his shoulder, it quickly began leaking blood that ran down his arm.

"It isn't fun being abused by an ex is it?" She asked like it was an actual question.

A gunshot made her turn around, Horris laid on the floor, blood gushing from his head.

If Wes stood right there, and Horris was dead where had the gun come from?

Her question was answered when she looked up from the body to JJ, who was looking straight back at her. Everybody stood still for a few seconds, while, Wes was cursing and yelling.
