As you all know, Guilty Conscience is my first fan fiction. As a matter of fact, it is the first piece of written fiction that I am publishing to the internet. So it should come as no surprise when you, the readers, catch some flaws in my work. Whether that be grammar, punctuation, or the story simply loses its flow. However, I have taken this past week to go through my story and make corrections to any of the previous mistakes I've made. I've even added some more content to the story! But I don't want you all to have to re-read the entirety of the text all over again, so this author's note will fill you in on the corrections I've made and plot I've added.

- Grammar mistakes have been corrected.

- Punctuation mistakes have been corrected.

- Extensive/Run-on sentencing has been removed.

- Some inner monologue for Y/N has been added.

Don't worry, you've honestly missed nothing! The only portions I've added to the story involve Y/N going into deeper detail of her hatred for Abbacchio. While re-reading my work, I was beginning to get the feeling that Abbacchio was the one doing all of the hating, and Y/N was more focused on staring at the him rather than discussing her distaste for him. The story itself felt more like a one-sided enemies to lovers, and the text I've added only enhances Y/N's hatred for the lilac-haired mafioso. The only time that Y/N should begin to question her feelings for Abbacchio is when she sees him injured in the previous chapter. My editing has simply enhanced the true enemies to lovers feel that the story was initially supposed to take on.

As an example, here is a before and after of the editing process - look for the bold words to see the text I've added:

Before edits made:
He's sitting and he still manages to look down on me, she thought to herself. Y/N was unable to get him to look away, no matter how obvious she made her discomfort. It was entirely too frustrating. His hair fell loosely across his shoulders and his hands laid lazily in his lap. It was as though Abbacchio sat in a river of calm; nothing could break his stillness as he remained seated, patiently awaiting his boss to finish delegating instructions.

After edits made:
He's sitting and he still manages to look down on me, she thought to herself. Y/N was unable to get him to look away, no matter how obvious she made her disgust. She rolled her eyes and scoffed at him. It was entirely too frustrating. His hair fell loosely across his shoulders and his hands laid lazily in his lap. It was as though Abbacchio sat in a river of calm; nothing could break his stillness as he remained seated, patiently awaiting his boss to finish delegating instructions.

Small changes make a big difference in this enemies to lovers story! Stayed tuned for the next chapter of Guilty Conscience, now knowing that this fan fiction has taken a swift turn down the true enemies to lovers path!
