A horrendous scream which resounded in my ears like a nightmare that never ends. She looked at me, eyes staring with hate. I don't know what she wants from me, but I know nobody could see her. Her figure was semi-transparent against the lightning which flashes across, the rain outside was hitting at the glass, the wind came a howling.

But it's impossible.

Why?

Because she's dead.

My once lovely mother turned into a scary ghost.

"What did you do?!" said her ghostly figure as she looked at me.

"I am sorry," I kept repeating.

She wanted to kill me, yet her hands passed through me.

"Alex, what did you do?! Why am I like this?"

My hands trembled, the lightning flashes again.

Overnight sushi that she bought home.

Was sprawled on the floor.

There was nothing broken – because we every only used plastic.

Take away cups, plates, spoons, and forks.

They were all scattered.

Her dead body laid beside.

"I gonna kill you!" my mother's ghost cried.

Her transparent hands tried to hurt me.

However, they only went through me.

I turned to look at her as she returned my gaze.

A sudden realization hit both of us.

She stared at me as I slowly rise from the floor and laughed.

"My good mother. You can never hurt me anymore."

From that day on, her ghost haunted me.

I see her but she could never hurt me every again.

I live my life as I ignored her presence.

But that was all in my head.

The things I imagine as I stared at the ceiling of the empty house.

She was dead, but no ghost hung around.

The night that she died.

I saw her ghostly figure, walked away from the dead body and left, without a single glance at me.

A lightning flashes, that was all it took.

Her ghost disappeared.

Leaving only an empty husk behind.

Leaving me behind.
