2 ~ First Date

"...And I was jealous of all the attention you were givin' Azul, so I drank some poison so I would feel sick too and you'd be worried about me! My Little Shrimpy's so cute when she's worried~"

Yuu blushed at the comment. "Floyd, you shouldn't do that! You could've been seriously hurt!"

He gave her a tight hug from behind. "But being able to see you so much was worth it~! You spent so much time with me while I was sick~"

Here they were on their first date. Floyd was ecstatic to finally have Yuu all by herself without the tanuki in the way. He tried not to seem too overbearing with all of the hugs and such, but he couldn't help but sway to his impulses and hug Yuu whenever she so much as looked in his direction.

She didn't mind, of course; she was completely flustered, but he didn't make her feel bad. In fact, she'd dreamed of being hugged by Floyd like this ever since she caught feelings for him, and now she was finally getting it. Maybe it was all in her head, but the hugs seemed a little more tender now than they did before she knew that he liked her romantically.

The two of them were simply walking around town outside of campus together, enjoying each other's company. Floyd had even grabbed Yuu's hand, swinging it as they walked, and Yuu couldn't help but feel as though this was all a false reality.

'If this is a dream, I never want to wake up...' she found herself thinking as she watched Floyd's handsome side profile, laughing as he told her a story about when he lived in the Coral Sea.

Floyd noticed her gaze on him and turned, smiling inquisitively. "You look like you have something you wanna say, Shrimpy~ What is it?" He gave her hand a squeeze.

"O-Oh... I was just wondering if..." Her expression shifted and she stared at the floor in front of her. "If this is a one-time thing or if... you want to actually go out with each other?" She wanted to make sure she wasn't misunderstanding the situation.

Floyd let out a cheer internally. It had been his plan to wait a few days before asking her to formally be his girlfriend, but it seemed that there was no need to wait after all.

"Do you wanna be my girlfriend?" He asked, adding just the right amount of significance to his tone. He would've responded with a plain yes, but he knew that Yuu was fond of the little actions people did to show they care.

Her cheeks flushed bright red at the word 'girlfriend' and she nodded. "What about you..?" She asked, turning to look at him. "Do you want to be my boyfriend?"

"'Course I do, Lil' Shrimpy! I love being around you~ You're so much fun!" He wrapped his arms around her and nuzzled against her neck, causing her to let out an involuntary giggle. "So, you sure you wanna be my girlfriend, Shrimpy~? Like, 100%?"

"Mmhm." She slowly brought her arms around him, smiling at the pink tint she saw on his cheeks. He was being so forward and normal that she was worried that he didn't really like her that way, but it turned out she was worried for nothing. He really did like her.

"Sure you're sure~?"

"Yeah." She gave him a sweet smile that made his heart melt.

"No take backs?"

"No take backs."

Floyd let out a chuckle. "I'm glad~" he said quietly, hugging her even tighter than seemed possible. He then pulled away slightly. 'Have to be suuu~per careful. Shrimpy likes that,' he reminded himself. "Am I hugging you too tight?"

"No, it's okay. I like your hugs," she admitted shyly. "They feel nice."

'Shrimpy, you're even more perfect than I imagined...'

He put a bit of distance between them before brushing his lips against hers, kissing her softly. "Tell me if you ever want me to stop, okay~? I don't wanna make you upset." Yuu blinked a few times, still registering, before breaking into a bashful smile and nodding.

"This is random, but you know that thing you said earlier about not telling anyone?"

"Yeah, what about it?"

"Are you going to tell Jade?"

"Nah," he responded casually. "I just want you all to myself~" He squeezed her face in his hands and rubbed their noses together. Yuu laughed and put her hands on top of his, leaning into his touch.
