9/4/22 - take a picture, it'll last longer

I just want to put you somewhere and look at you for a while
To trace the lines of your body with my eyes
And then my fingertips
To memorize the slope of your lips
As they crash against mine
To pause time just long enough
That the sensations slip into long-term storage
That they drip into a place I can never forget
I just want your silhouette on file
Each line of your smile
Never too far out of sight

So that when the space between us stretches to miles
I can still feel you next to me at night
