And wait they did. While they waited for the parchment to do whatever it needed, Hazel had drank through a whole teapot of tea summoned by Ludlig, spoken to him about her schooling and aspirations for the future, and even took a thirty-minute nap, with Ludlig's permission, of course.

Eventually, Ludlig scooped up the stack of parchment and returned to his desk, donning a pair of thin-rimmed glasses, sitting down and looking through the previously blank sheets of parchment. Hazel watched the minuscule changes in Ludlig's facial expressions. They flicked between confusion and disgust before landing on pure rage.

"My dear, please, come to my desk', despite his angry expression, his voice remained calm, the quiet before a storm.

Ludlig summoned a highback armchair and a thick, tartan blanket that reminded Hazel of Professor McGonagall. Maybe because the stern but fair woman was Scottish. Sitting down and pulling the blanket over her petite frame, Ludlig waited for her to be comfortable before he spoke again.

"The information I'm about to show you is very... troubling to say the least, and I would like to go over everything with you before we decide on any action. Do you agree?"

Hazel nodded, confusion clouding her features. Ludlig nodded before handing over the first piece of parchment.

"This is a copy of your birth certificate."

Hazel took the parchment with hesitant hands and took a deep breath before beginning to read;

Hazel or Hyacinth? Rapidly read and re-read the document before her. How? How was any of this true? Before she could utter a word, she was handed another sheet of parchment.

"This is a copy of your vault transactions. I assure you this will be dealt with swiftly".

Not understanding Luglig's words, Hazel bit back comment and started to read, the information presented to her making her heart drop;

Hazel looked to Ludlig with confused eyes.

"How is this vault mine if the Potters illegally adopted me?"

Ludlig steepled his hands on top of the desk before he spoke, "you are the owner of multiple vaults, most of which you wouldn't have had access to yet had you not taken part and won the tri-wizard tournament. As such, despite being illegally adopted by the Potters, they still died with you as their sole beneficiary, leaving their vault and, by extension, everything within it to you", he explained. Hazel nodded before she took a third sheet of parchment.

"What's this one?" she asked. Even to her own ears, she sounded drained. This day had been a lot, and it was still not over. Despite this, Ludlig was impressed with her decorum. She was taking all of this very well.

"This one is the most worrying of all. It's a list of spells and compulsions cast upon you and to whom each is keyed".

Hazel's form shook with sobs as reality finally set in. These people she had called family, who she had loved with all her heart, had only ever used her.

Ludlig silently stood from his chair and rounded the desk to stand beside her, slowly rubbing soothing circles into her back.

"My dear, I am going to request your mother's presence. He is going to want to be here for you."

Hazel looked up at Ludlig with tear-filled eyes that probably didn't belong to her. Those eyes, similar to Lily's, were most likely a mirage, just like his windows.
