Kameron could only stare at Kendall and his destroyed houses in furious shock. His inner animal wanted to surge to the surface and tear the people who'd done this to shreds. The people that had attacked her place also came in and attacked his family as well. Fortunately, no one was injured though Kayla was scared and traumatized and couldn't stop crying.

Kameron and his family had managed to fight back but it had all been a distraction. Somehow, the group of people had managed to sneak up and attack the guards Sarafina had posted outside and knock them out, which was why they hadn't done anything. And the attack on his house had been a distraction to kidnap Kendall.

As soon as he made sure his family was okay, he rushed over to Kendall's house to make sure she and her family were okay. But she was gone.

He watched as her parents tearfully spoke to Sarafina and two police officers. He wanted to go over there and offer his condolences but didn't know what to say.

He ran his hand through his hair and looked up at the sky, wondering how the hell this could have happened. He prayed wherever Kendall was, she was okay and they would find her.

Hannah stared at Kendall's house in total horror. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. She heard the tall woman, Sarafina, speaking to the police officers that were on the scene and could tell from the grave expressions on their faces that something terrible had happened. The house and yard had been warded off with yellow police tape and when she'd tried to go over to Kendall's parents, a stern officer had barked at her to stay behind the tape even though she told him she was a friend of the family but he was having none of it.

After what happened yesterday when Kendall went on about turning into a shapeshifter and when that woman had appeared, she came over as soon as she could only to be met with a crime scene. She was praying that this was just a horrible dream, but she of all people knew that things couldn't be just summed up as a bad dream.

She desperately searched the scene for Kendall, but she couldn't find her. She did see Kendall's parents but they were tearfully speaking to a police officer and she didn't want to interrupt them. She did see Kameron standing near the house, gazing at it with the same horror she felt.

"Kameron!" she shouted and ran over to him.

He looked up at her in surprise. "Hannah? What are you doing here?"

"I came over to check on Kendall and I find this! What the hell is going on, no one's telling me anything!"

Kameron looked away and a terrible, sinking feeling formed in her gut.

"Someone attacked our houses last night," he said in such a soft voice she almost didn't hear him. "They attacked my family and me but we weren't hurt and then we heard something happened at Kendall's house and when we came over her parents kept telling us she was gone."

"Gone?"

"No one knows where she is and we think the people who attacked us took her."

Stephanie listened to Hannah on the other side of the phone, disbelief shooting through her at what her friend was describing to her. She hoped that Hannah was just playing a prank for her, expecting Hannah to say, "Ha ha, got you!" but it never came.

"You're joking," Stephanie squeaked. "Please, please tell me you're joking."

"I wish I was. You know I wish I was. But I'm standing here right now and looking at this. They keep saying she's gone."

"Gone? Gone?"

"She's gone, Steph." Hannah's voice cracked. "God, Steph, what are we going to do?"

Stephanie couldn't answer as tears filled her own eyes and a sob escaped her throat.

Jade Black paced her living room as she told her grandmother what Hannah and Stephanie had texted her.

Nicole sighed and leaned back in her chair. "I knew this would happen. Now that supernaturals are out in the open, all the anti-supernatural groups are going to go public too."

Jade looked over at her grandmother. "How would they have been able to tell Kendall was a shapeshifter?" Kameron had called her and let her know that Kendall had been abducted and about her transforming into a shapeshifter. They had exchanged numbers shortly after the first day of school since it was better for supernaturals to be in contact in case stuff like this happened.

Nicole shook her head. "I have no idea. I don't know how this could have happened but from now on, we need to lay low. I know I pushed you to let the world know you're a sorceress, but after this, you need to keep your head down as much as possible."

Jade rubbed her hands over her face. "This is so crazy."

"I know, honey, but unfortunately things are only going to get worse. If this was any indication, we need to watch out and prepare for war."
