All that I am

I waited to shower
So I would look better
When I finally saw you
I even shaved everything
The wounds were healing
I took the extra time
To add the dye to my hair
So I'd be more vibrant for you
I bought waterproof mascara
Put it on before seeing you
To stop the tears from falling
To stay beautiful in front of you
Even as your eyes started to pour
I didn't let you see my core
Didn't show you my pain
You didn't deserve to see
Tears falling down my cheeks
What you needed to see however
Was the woman you just lost
Standing before you
And showing you
All that she is
